Please, let's give Floyd the respect if..

he beats "Sugar" Shane Mosley. I know, for damn sure, that even if Floyd beats Mosley in a good ol' fashion, people will come out and say Mosley was past his prime. Weren't you people who wanted Mayweather to face Mosley so bad? Well, ****, here it is, have it and let's give out the respect to both fighters.

Let's make it clear that Shane IS past his prime. But, he is the best welterweight in the world, and still very dangerous.

Mayweather be will discredited by some people, but the majority of real boxing fans will give Mayweather respect.

People are already saying it; now that he is fighting Mosley. Yet, these are the same that whine he should be fighting Mosley and any top welterweight...its quite funny to read.

The vast majority of the boxing world is/will give floyd props for fighting shane. Just the out-spoken haters say otherwise.

Shane Mosley is the best possible opponent for floyd at the time being.

Good that we have some people that realize this. Wasn't Hatton supposed to beat Mayweather? After Mayweather beats him, Hatton is overrated. Wasn't DLH supposed to beat Mayweather? Mayweather beats him, DLH is over the hill. I know for sure that if Floyd does beat Mosley, people will say Mosley was already past his prime and look at the age difference.

Mosley may be old, but he is still a very very good fighter at this point.

He still has great handspeed, deadly power especially with his left hook and right hand, and is very durable. He is also a natural welterweight so thats a positive also.

And last of all, Mosley is currently the best WW in the world and is ranked 3 on the P4P list.

If Mayweather beats Mosley, it is a great win.

No. I don't remember a single, non-****-riding-Englishman, that said hatton would win or actually pose a threat to floyd. More people predicted Gatti would beat floyd than people predicted ricky would if my memory serves me correct.

Other than that people just want floyd to lose. People need to accept that about him.

That's the way it is when you're on top. It's the same for every fighter, Mayweather gets more criticism though.

And Hatton was never really expected to beat Mayweather.

I don't know about this forum but many people said Hatton would beat Floyd. Anyways, doesn't matter, Hatton was considered one of the best at that time.

well this site can be pretty ******ed at times. And I was here, I remember how many Hatton fans there used to be. There were a TON of hatton fans. But if you remove the homers, the die hards, it was all floyd.

It all comes down to people don't like floyd mayweather, so people will always criticize him, always downlplay his victories, always have excuses. That's the way it will always be with him because of the persona he's created to the public. It's a two sided sword.
