Why would Americans care if the heavyweight title switches hands from a European to another European? They want an AMERICAN heavyweight champ not a European and certenley not a British one.

There's a huge difference between it switching from a exCommie to a British fighter. Haye speaks English well, is good looking and entertaining. If he were to knock out Ruiz that would set some big commotion. The heavyweight division is still the biggest division in the world [Manny and Floyd transcend divisions]. If there was a big shake up then it would be all over sports news. Amir is in a much smaller division, in terms of media attention. I can't really see him ever being on sports center or something like that unless they market him well.
