u think erik morales still have something left?

he should hav gotten the nod on chicago when he fought diaz...

man that was 2 or 3? years ago...

u think the long lay-off he just had would be beneficial to him? or would just make things harder for el terible?

    thoughts?

He had nothing left, it was a testament to how average Diaz is that Erik was able to arguably beat him. His legs were gone, his chin was nowhere near as good, his punch wasn't as devastating, he couldn't get off as fast as he used to, the guy was shot, and the layoff will only worsen that.

erik's crunching power never went with him past 126...

@ 130, he had just enuf to keep his foes honest, but not enuf to KO them...

his underrated skills, was enuf to tide him through...

but now @ 135? where guys are naturally bigger? & he himself being older now?

i cant see erik really making noise...

but who really knows for certain right?

I think it was just the quality of fighter added with the experience of Morales that made the fight competitive not much to do with what Morales has left in him....

His last loses were not just losses but embaressments...Morales aged overnight...Happens at that weight especially...Those guys rely so much on speed and movement in the lower weight classes soon as it starts to slip and they are not physically able to move up to higher weights suited for the adjustments it is all over...

        EG- Barrera Vs Kahn....

Morales was a great fighter and has given us some of the most exciting fights in the last 20 years but to try and keep at it now would be nothing more then an accident waiting to happen

A few years off could have done wonders, but it's doubtful.

No. He definitely beat Diaz, and I'm a huge Morales fan, but no.

                He could have regained something.

Maybe his fire for boxing has rekindled.

If Marquez still has something at 36 going on 37, I see no reason why Morales can't try to make a comeback at a higher weight class(135-140).

no. hes not in shape and he doesnt hit for power, his chin took him as far as it could at 126/130 but you could see in the fight with raheem that his legs just werent there anymore.

He lost four or five of his last six and last time I seen him he must of weighed 160 lbs. It is a long road back but who knows.
