Juanma Pulls a Mayweather With The Famous "He Is Not A Draw" Excuse

Yes. he got a better resume than Gamboa or Cab. But what is your point then? Who do you want him to fight? Dlh? Pbf? Pac? Cotto? Hatton? Those are the current "draws" of the sport but does it makes sense? Granted Izzy and Rafa are good business decisions, but that is all there is too it. Did you not see cracks in Lopez's defense? Did you not see fatigue issues in the Mtagwa and Leuvano fight? Juanma still has to improve. If he meets Gamboa now, most likely he will lose. And I am a bigger fan of Juanma than Gamboa. If he won't meet Cab and Gamboa now, I say he meets Chris John now and let us see if he can improve or he has already reached his limit. Chris John is not a draw. I hope he does not use it as an excuse.Comment

He's planning on fighting the winner of Vasquez-Marquez next probably. Those guys might be shot, but I think they've got the power to turn this hype job's lights out if they land flush on him which isn't very hard to do. Lopez is the exact opposite of what those two guys embody who had to fight good fighters to get where they are at and do it the hard way. That's why I half ass don't blame them for milking their rivalry.
Vasquez has Larios, Gonzalez, Marquez twice, and a few other pretty good fighters. Rafael Marquez has a prime Silence Mabuza, Tim Austin, and Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson, and of course Israel Vasquez. Who is on Lopez's resume? Oh yeah, I forgot. Caballero's left overs in Daniel Ponced on.Comment

What I am trying to say is that people are calling the guy a ducker when he has faced tougher opponents than both Caballero and Gamboa. What have they done to deserve a fight with Juanma? why don't they fight eachother and the winner takes on Juanma? Why don't those two step up and fight John? they better do something worth talking about if they want a juanma fight. BTW Juanma looked slower against Luevano but he did not have fatigue issues in that fight.Yes. he got a better resume than Gamboa or Cab. But what is your point then? Who do you want him to fight? You make some solid points, but you're a just a voice crying out in the wilderness. Boxing is many things: it's a sport, it's an art, it's a science and it's entertainment. But it's also a business. It's always been this way, really, with fixed fights and ducked opponents. Unfortunately, the business angle has been increasingly focused on to the detriment of the fan. As boxing purses become larger and larger, with one fight being big enough to retire several people, the business aspect is heightened. (In the music industry it's called "selling out," and it happens all the time.) The whole thing stinks, but it's reality. If the fans -- both in boxing and in music -- don't like it, then they should speak with their wallets and not buy a damn thing, not an album or pay-per-view. Of course, that'll never happen. It's tough enough to get two people to agree on something, let alone millions. This is the type of **** that happens when you clowns constantly spew,
"boxing is a business".
The ****ty attitutde filters down to the younger, less established, and lesser known fighters.
Great job "business" fans. You've helped to create this mess. Instead of saying, "you know what, I don't receive a penny from any fighter, I don't give a **** about the business side, I'm a sporting fan and I just want to see the best fights"
You labia splits continue with the same bull **** chump fighters come out with.
Great ****ing job.
Its funny and sad at the same time, that the only fans who follow this line of thinking,
are fans who don't want their favorite fighters to take on the best challenges.
Its like they think they are somehow getting a cut.
Never, ever, in over 25 years of being a fan of boxing, even as a child, did I ever hear conversations amongst men and fans, about the business. Its a generational thing. The same **** happened with Hiphop. Nobody ever, ever, ever, ever, talked about sales and projections, etc. The albums were either dope, or they weren't.
Mainstream society has succeeded in making young people have nothing but a consumer based mentality.
Juan Manuel Lopez has been raised on this mentality. He's one of those few boxers whose combination of ability, charisma and fan-base have made him the object of promotional greed. His career is being handled very carefully and he's right onboard with the program. It almost made me cringe to hear such a young fighter call boxing a business while being interviewed after the Luevano bout. That's the world we live in folks...everybody wants to get paid. Just look in the mirror and seriously ask yourself one question: "Would I be any different?"Comment

I seriously can't understand someone calling another person a no namer when HE HIMSELF is not a big enough name. That makes no sense to me. Try again Juanma now you have got yourself into a bind, he isn't ducking he says himself they will get it on Next year. The way he is saying it though makes him sound.......odd to say the least.Comment
