That is a distinction you make but do not absolve guilt. Just because you get caught before rather than after the crime you are still engaged in an attempt.

Yeah Margarito did cheat and he should be banned for life in my opinion, but what I don't get is that why wasn't anyone ever disgusted with Felix Trinidad for doing the same thing. Trinidad was caught doing the same thing before the Hopkins fight and no one ever gave him a hard time about it. He straight got caught cheating. Why wasn't he ever suspended.

The answer is very simple. The TRUE fact is that Trinidad's hand wrappings were perfectly legal, there was nothing wrong with them. It was all because Hopkins' rep arrived
a bit late when Trinidad already had one hand wrapped. The Commission guy was there.... So Hopkins' guy licked up a fuss, and they unwrapped the fist and then rewrapped it again.

Just a bunch of crap. Hopkins again trying to get a psychological edge.

When they were forced to rewrap Trinidads left hand it was discovered that he also had a hardening substance on it. The truth is Trinidad made a lot of money for a lot of people and was hugely popular so no one was going to tell him anything.

I agree with Oscar. I think Margarito has been loading his gloves for a good portion of his career. I am certain that he loaded his gloves against Cotto and because of that he caused irreversible damage to Cotto. I strongly feel he broke Cotto and Cotto would never once again be the same fighter after that match with Margarito. We saw a great fighter in Cotto peaking in his career and was one of the few fighters that gave life to the sport of boxing with his boxing brilliance and dedication to the sport. Not counting all the other boxers that had their careers ended because of Margarito's decision to use loaded gloves. I don't think Margarito should be allowed to fight again. This sport is supposed to be between two gentlemen testing their natural skill, will, technique and to prove that the style they were mentored is best. Very disappointred in Margarito. But in the end he was never that great anyway. I would much rather see Cotto in action than Margarito any day And I am Mexican.
