I know everyone writes margarito off as being a nobody because of the plaster, but he was still a good fighter. He still had an iron chin. He still had insane stamina and tremendous work-rate. Maybe he doesn't anymore after mosley and the year layoff, we'll see, but plaster didn't give him those abilities. Maybe the ability to hit harder obviously, but everything else was all hardwork and skill.
    Natas,

If Margarito had the audacity to load up; then it isn't far fetched to think he could have been on some sorts of PEDs. So honestly, I wouldn't credit his stamina/ activity. Just my opinion.

He was never a good fighter and he never had skill. The rest is all true though.

Pacquiao can fight any direction he chooses for 15 rounds.

and what you said, Marg is easy to hit, and very slow. I'd put my money on Pacquiao actually stopping Margarito.
Very true. Cotto didn't fight the smartest fight. Plus you can't forget the little plaster issue. Margarito is finished. He doesn't deserve the payday anyway.

Margarito has ALWAYS had great stamina and a great workrate though. So one has to assume that's always been his strengths. People have always reported him as being a tremendously hard worker in the gym, a gym rat he's been called. So loading your gloves shouldn't jump to the conclusion he was juicing too, that's making a baseless assumption.

People can have bad training camps and lose a fight. Mike Tyson had a horrible training camp and lost to buster douglas. Was he shot? Absolutely not. He wasn't mentally there though that's for sure.
Margarito next fight will not tell you anything. Cotto look like a beast against Jennings but he was not the same guy when he faced a top fighter in Clottey. Hell Jennings is a better fighter than Carson jones so I expect Margarito to feast on him.

BTW Margarito is been in a lot of wars and the Cotto/Mosley fight took all he had left. People actually forget that when Margarito faced Cotto he was consider by many to be slowing down and on the downslide after his lost to Paul Williams.

Dude is shot and he was never really skilled to beging with. no reason for a Margarito-Pacquiao fight to happen.

All I'm saying is, if Margarito had the audacity to load up, I'm not gonna rule out the possibilities that he was on some sorts of PEDs. You gotta really not give a fuck about the sport to do what Margarito attempted to against Mosley. PEDs ain't even the lowest you can go, loading up is, just something to think about.

During his camp for Shane Mosley he was getting his ass kicked on a daily basis by a novice junior welterweight and a young journeymen. These kids (Said El-Harrak and Henry Mitchell) weren’t just outboxing Margarito. They were slapping the s__t out of him. I’d seen Margarito go toe-to-toe with strong middleweights in the gym for years and he usually got the better of the bigger men. But, suddenly, he was no longer able to stand his ground and take the punishment he once did.

Margarito is shot as a mofo.

I didn't say we will learn anything in his next fight, I said we won't learn anything until he fights again (I mean until he fights a couple times and against decent opposition. He's had a year layoff).

BTW Margarito is been in a lot of wars and the Cotto/Mosley fight took all he had left. People actually forget that when Margarito faced Cotto he was consider by many to be slowing down and on the downslide after his lost to Paul Williams.

I'm not saying he isn't shot, I'm saying it's impossible to tell at this point. You can say that people thought he was on the downside against Paul Williams, but that means nothing espeically considering he destroyed cintron and cotto afterwords. ****, people thought hopkins was on the downside after he fought Robert Allen the last time.

I'm not saying he was the most skilled fighter in the world, but people act like he was no good at all. He nearly beat Paul Williams lets not forget, he destroyed Cintron and Cotto, etc. He has some GREAT qualities - iron chin, great stamina & work-rate, not stop pressure. There will always be certain guys and styles that can beat guys like margarito, no matter if they are shot or in their primes. But for most guys, margarito type fighters are very, very tough to deal with.
