You really answered your own question. Margarito is a bum. Fighters like him chin eventually get worn down. There are only but so many punches a person can take before their punch resistance gets worn down and from the Mosley fight I believe Margarito has reached that point.
Margarito is slow, plodder, has no defense, and throws slow wide looping punches and his punch resistance is on the decline and I am supposed to believe that Manny vs. Margarito is supposed to be a good fight. LMAO!!!! Margarito is a bum. Cotto was never a great fighter but he was ABOVE AVERAGE.

So I think pacquiao would really be pushing his luck fighting a guy this large, with or without plaster.

I know everyone writes margarito off as being a nobody because of the plaster, but he was still a good fighter. He still had an iron chin. He still had insane stamina and tremendous work-rate. Maybe he doesn't anymore after mosley and the year layoff, we'll see, but plaster didn't give him those abilities. Maybe the ability to hit harder obviously, but everything else was all hardwork and skill.

Margarito is shot homie. It was proven during his training camp for the Mosley fight were he was getting scholed by Jr Welterweight bums. And is not really shocking since he took a LOT of clean power punches from Cotto.

I think the jury is still out if he's shot or not. He might be, but no one will no until he fights again.

People can have bad training camps and lose a fight. Mike Tyson had a horrible training camp and lost to buster douglas. Was he shot? Absolutely not. He wasn't mentally there though that's for sure. Maybe Margarito needed a break, who knows.

For the record I'm not a fan of Margarito, never have been never will. But he was a good fighter, cheater or not.
