That fight was non stop from the beginning to the end and Duran's work rate was crazy, Leonard was totally out of his comfort zone and should of danced instead of trying to slug it out with Duran who was in his comfort zone throughout most of the fight.
Just wathed the 1980 bout between Leonard and Duran

Exactly...which is why he danced in the 2nd fight...although people say Duran didn't train for that fight much tho...
But to Duran's defense, Leonard didn't give him a rematch right away(like Duran gave Leonard)...they fought again after they were both past there best...
I wonder who'd win if they both came with there best and Leonard didn't fight Duran's fight... -
It was a great fight, Leonard made the mistake of trying to prove that he was better than Duran at Duran's game and it backfired on him. But that was the fight that proved to people that Leonard wasn't just a pretty face.Comment

That fight was also a lot closer than most people think. It was basically even going into the last couple rounds. Duran didn't dominate like people try to say he did.Comment

nope he did not. I have always argued with people that say that. The scorecards were tallied, so that had any round that was scored for Duran been scored for Leonard, SRL wins, a fight that he totally willingly neglected to use his greatest attributues, speed, boxing, angles..etc.Comment

Leonard did stand and trade too much, but it wasn't out of the norm for him to stand flat-footed anyway. He was usually a flat-footed boxer who circled the ring, looking to open up with his quick and often deadly combinations.
Leonard adjusted from his usual fighting style in the rematch, to dance much more against Duran (and later Hagler).Comment

leonard-duran fights were memorable. Even the one where Duran said, no mas, was also good to watch.Comment
