Because punishing accidental death (regardless of how ****** Barrios was), let alone murder, with murder is nonsensical.
"You've killed someone and killing someone is wrong, so guess what, we're gonna set an example and kill you....completely contradicting the point we're trying to make".
Like I said, nonsensical.Comment

I doubt he'll get anywhere close to life imprisonment. He's won't be on a murder charge, he'll be on a count of "death by dangerous driving", or something
If you remember former West Brom striker and current Notts County striker Lee Hughes, he got given 6 years for "Death by dangerous driving" in 2004 after his car ploughed into another vehicle and killed two people and he fled the scene leaving them to die. But he was released after 3 years in released 2007 for good behaviour and signed for Oldham straight away.
It's not too far fetched the same could happen to Barrios and he could box again.Comment

your clearly not very educated on the law. I agree, that it wouldn't be sad to see him end up dead in a week after this. But it wasn't 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree murder. I have never heard of anyone getting the death penalty for vehicular manslaughter. He's an idiot for what he did, and the fact that he killed a 20 year old pregnant girl is terrible but who hasn't went over the speed limit or driven a bit carelessly, or even a little drunk. I mean he doesn't deserve defending, but what if that was the only time he has ever been reckless and ****** behind the wheel, in that case it's just very unlucky. But don't get me wrong the guy deserves to be locked up and the fact that he drove away after the accident shows that he isn't a very good guy. Though i am sure most people would panic in a situation like that. Jail and having to live with it worst enough. On the other hand if I were found out he felt no remorse for what he did than I would agree with you but from a legal stand point it would still never happen.Comment

Same for the Brazilian striker Edmundo, iirc he killed a family and got 4 years. Prince Naseem Hamed broke every bone in a man's body by speeding, not sure what he got.I doubt he'll get anywhere close to life imprisonment. He's won't be on a murder charge, he'll be on a count of "death by dangerous driving", or something

It's such a tough one, the guys don't mean to do it but they still did it. Should be a minimum 10 years you'd think anyway, some would say 20 and some might say forever (or death penalty).Comment
