On the other hand if the first two minutes are standing then Pacman would have to start aggressive(as he ever). But that doesnt mean that BJ will be a pushover, he is more than capable of standing his ground with his boxing.

    My prediction:

BJ takes this one due to the fact that is not just a boxing match, there will be leg kicks(wich are Boxer killers), knees during clinches, submission holds etc. An more importantly, and Im talking from personal experience here since I actually practice BJJ. The ground game is really really exhausting and even though Manny has great cardio, he'll find himself in a whole different scenario here. It would be like taking a polar bear out of the ice and into the desert.

    PS:

Regarding the "he should fight GSP instead" GSP would neutralize Pacman's standup game like he does with every other fighter and once they are on the ground, Pac would get manhandled.
What the hell dude?? Pac is a freak of nature man, no MMA-dude is gonna neatralize him on his feet. if it's stand up; Pac knocks them the **** out if it's on the ground; Pac will lose.
IF pac trains his ground game than it will be a different story because pacquiao is a much greather athlete than that ****er of a bj penn.

pacquiao can train his ground game for 10 years and not be able to even be equal on the ground to penn.

you have to be superior in strength and size to handle penn on the ground.

even randy couture had problems keeping penn on the ground.

Obviously it's not no **** by looking at the responses. Even if Penn didn't have a size advantage, I would say the same thing. They are talking about an MMA match not boxing. Penn has not been KO'd by much larger guys than Pacquiao.

these fools don't know anything about grappling.

all they have to do is spend 1 minute on the mat with a high school wrestler or a bjj blue belt and they would understand.

they look at mma fighters boxing skills and say , "those fools have no skill"

they don't realize how much skill there is involved in grappling.

dude boxers arent used to defending kicks AT ALL. they would have to dramatically change their stance. K1 rules bj would beat pac's ass.

Lol, that would be awful to see. Once the fight goes to the ground its over, BJ Penn or GSP would rip Manny to shreds. Watching Manny squeal in an armbar or rear naked choke isn't something I want to see =/

Now put those guys in a boxing ring and I say Manny KO's either by round 4. Epically.

You are making a mistake here. K1 rules will result in a KTFO in favour of pacman. BJ penn doesn't even have 10% of the speed, punching power, footwork, timing, quickness, slickness of pacquiao and don't underestimate manny pac's strenght because he is a strong mother****er.
The kick's in k1 won't be a problem, the only thing manny have to worry about are the lowkick's because that can slow him down and result in a TKO, and i dont even think that is BJ Penn speciality.

Bj Penn can kick all he want but if manny take's one kick and take the possibilty to come inside...

Man,, BJ Penn will be brutalized.
