This thread was garbage from the jump. You asked Pac fans to list their other fav fighters besides pac, they did, and then you back tracked by limiting it to Filipino's.

Also who really gives a **** if there are filipino's who only know and like Pacquiao. Every race does this. I'm pretty sure back in the day's a lot of AA start following tennis because of Arhur Ash, Baseball because of Jackie Robinson and a few of those Negro League Stars and even in recent times....Golf because of Tiger woods. I'm also willing to bet that for the longest they were the only ones they knew also because thats what made them start watching the sport and thats who they Identified with.

To be fair, Elorde and Villa were generations before a lot of the modern fans times so It's not fair to blame Fans for not knowing who they are.

First off, i am an ordinary fan. I never claim boxing knowledge greater than the next poster. I do not overzealously scour the web for vids of fights and only catch whats on tv. Obsessing over a single sport takes the fun out of it if one is not an athlete of said sport.

An episode of Everybody hates chris states it perfectly. When asked why he knows so much about basketball, he replies that one tends to over-analyze when one can't play. I don't want to be THAT geek.

then why wouldn't you give a pass for PAC fans who have the same connection? not their fault for rooting for a guy that's not just from the same country but the same province and have probably had some kind of connection as you and K-9

He's a fan of BOXING. Not a single fighter. He's a FAN OF BOXING. Everyone has certain biases. But in the end, some root for single fighters, OTHERS ROOT FOR THE SPORT.
