Poll: Has Roy Jones ruined his legacy?

Has the great Roy Jones Jr. ruined his legacy by fighting on, attemting to recreate the good old days when he was superman or will the boxing world remember him for what he did over a 15 year period? (89-04)

Be honest and discuss if needed.

    Thanks.

No, Roy will always be an icon. If he wants to fight on it doesn't effect anything.

Undecided. We will see what happens in the B-hop rematch.

Being active right now is doing this... once he retires, people can just look back at the good ol days.

i agree....every all time great had losses past their prime and it didn't damage their legacy....Ali lost to Holmes, Holmes lost to Tyson, Tyson lost to Lewis, Sugar Ray Robinson lost to Gene Fullmer, Sugar Ray Leonard lost to Hector Comacho, De La Hoya lost to Pacquiao.....their legacies took little damage....Roy Jones is still Top 20 P4P ATG for me

if one feels he hasnt already they will once bhop wins

bhop just has more left and its sad to see the shine peeled off one of his biggest wins by rematching the dude at the end of his career

but oh well a loss against bhop would probably make him convince himself to retire

I don't think a fighter can ruin their legacy by losing when they are shot. No matter how many losses RJ gets or how bad those losses are, nothing changes how brilliant he was or who he beat. He whitewashed James Toney, beat Bernard Hopkins, cleaned out light heavyweight with shocking ease and won a heavyweight belt comfortably. He could get knocked out by Ivan Calderon and none of that would change.

A loss to Hopkins at this point means nothing and Roy Jones knows that.

However the fight itself will make him more money and raise his rankings in the division once again if he wins.

Very good post. I'm not so sure a lot of boxing 'experts' know that though. That's what troubles me.

How do you explain him getting owned inside a round by Danny Green then?
