I'm getting sick of these no personality fighters.

I enjoy a heated build-up if there's really bad blood in the air, like Vargas - Mayorga or De La Hoya for example.
But trying to be bad-ass just for the sake of it is just as ****** as hiding behind the promoter all the time. Sorry for singleing out Darchinyan, but he's the first that comes to my mind. Cheap build up talk with crossing the line several times and then "sorry, but you know, it was just business", screw that.
I'd rather see two fighters showing honest respect for each other.
And as long as they are fighting the best out there aka Cotto, I don't think anyone should really complain.

I agree with a lot of that post and I wouldn't want all fighters to do it. Besides, not all of them can do it. It takes a brash talker and a guy with swagger to pull it off and not look fake but if they got it, they need to do it. We aren't in a sport that usually the good guy gets paid. We are in a sport of entertainment, so entertain me. Chad Dawson for example is a great fighter but he doesn't say ANYTHING and he wonders why he fights infront of 4000 people crowds. Sure a guy like Pac gets paid but he also backs it up with an in your face type of style. He is a rare exception.

Well, not everyone has the personality for that and if you can't back it up it makes you look incredibly ******.

I don't really care about their personalities as long as they're entertaining in the ring..... nothing irks me more than a boxer that sounds like a pitbull during press conferences and then fights like a poodle in the ring

Yeah, Kevin Johnson before the Vitali Klitschko-fight for example, all that delusional trash talk when everybody knew there's next to no chance for him. And the he even "tops" those low expectations by giving one of the most uninsprired performances of boxing in 2009. Ridiculous. I'd rather see him waste his energy in the ring opposed to before trying to hype the fight...

He made a 50k bet and the ref actually brought him back

Right away you can tell who hasn't been watching boxing for too long. I remember this! These were the glory days of boxing! This is when people would talk about boxing all day every day!
