I'd favor both over John at this point. John's starting to look a little shaky to me after the 2 Juarez fights.

John is a great tactician and very experienced. I don't know if they would beat him now, but I'd love to see either one of them fight him.

And yes, they would have better chances than Juarez but you also have to remember that Juarez was a guy moving down in weight against John, Juarez was knocking guys out at 130, I think he's a naturally heavier handed guy than both Lopez and Gamboa.

Out of the two I'd personally give Gamboa a better chance at winning, guys like John who is and awkward boxer, don't like to come up against guys who are awkward and hard to time like Gamboa is.
I think its asenine to assert that Juarez is heavier handed Gamboa and Lopez. Hes never been a spectacular 1 punch KO guy like Lopez or Gamboa. He has always been a wear you down and stop you guy.

          as for Gamboa...
It depends on John's condition.. it seems his body is no longer for the 126 division.. for a 5'7" and aged 30; featherweight is a squeeze.. but i'll go for CJ for now.. Gamboa tasted the canvass w/ a lesser opponent and yet to beat a serious contender. but a year or so, i'll go w/ Gamboa.

          as for JuanMa..
I feel he'll beat CJ.. the fight will go like the Luevano fight, but a bit harder for JuanMa.. a UD win or late KO, like 11th or 12th..

Gamboa is fast enough that John will be getting caught with those punches in the first rounds. Johns isn't durable enough to take those shots for 12 rounds, and he isn't quick enough to stay away from them.

Its not a for sure blow out by Gamboa, John is a hell of a fighter, but Gamboa is all wrong for him. Hes Rocky Juarez on Roy Jones sauce.
As you pointed out, he was hurt towards the end of both fights where he kept high workrates to fend off Juarez' pressure, Gamboa and Lopez both aren't as physically strong as Juarez, nor are they pressure fighters.

What? Juarez is a very heavy handed guy, he was known as a 1 punch knockout guy when he was coming out. Now that he seems more gunshy and doesn't let his hands go more he's had to go into the later rounds.

but Juarez is war tested and is slightly skilled over Gamboa & JuanMa..
Gamboa or JuanMa, either fighter won't have a sure 100% win over CJ.
this fights are 50/50 in my opinion..

Gamboa has a better chance than Lopez right now just based on styles. Johns style will give Juanma trouble, but I think Gamboas speed gives John problems.
