Why would somebody like L. Merchant consider Pacquiao as his No. 1 featherweight?

One of my buddies in the other site was listening to ring talk live world wide last sunday as they were discussing the aftermath of the Morales vs Barrera fight when Larry Merhcant was asked by the host Pedro Fernandez to rank the featherweight division. Larry Merchant said, "in my mind, pacquiao is still no.1 among the featherweights, barrera is second with marquez right with him and then morales." That's something coming from the godfather of the hbo boxing especially mb & em being hbo fighters.

Why would Larry (a veteran in the boxing world) consider Manny as his No. 1 featherweight? For me: maybe Manny for him is the most talented and explosive of them all.

Well, he's up there in the pound 4 pound, took out the featherweight king pin(bad night or not), gave Marquez hell with a draw that I think Merchant even believed Manny should have won so he considers it as Manny won it, thus he sees in Manny that he only had to go through Morales. Morales had yet to fight Marquez, same with Barrera, and Morales couldn't KO Barrera. I dunno, I guess you put all this together, and you can see where Manny stands among them all.

Diversity Bros . . . diversity . . . where ever you go there will always be different opinions . . . just a matter of chosing the most logical one.

"Got to beat the man to be the man", right? Well Pac beat MAB who was regarded the King of Featherweight so he now has the title. No MATTER what arguements the ANTI PacS use . . . he will remain to be the number one Featherweight until somebody beat him and get that title from him.

True, but drawing with JMM after such a huge comfortable lead is far from impressive....I guess it just all depends on what kind of socks you have on..
