thumbs up. Gob Bless Haiti.
All promoters should follow Bob Arum's lead!

I would agree, except for the fact that this is not a noble act on the part of Bob Arum. It is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people to pay to attend the fight. Its no different to Arum than baseball teams giving away a free hat or key chain to the first 1,000 fans as they do regularly. If Arum wanted to support Haiti, he could write a check on Top Rank's account for $1 million and give it to them now instead of waiting until March.Comment

I don't have any huge problems with Arum, but a "portion" could mean a fraction of 1% if he so desires. Its a smart promotional ploy, but it doesn't mean much till we know how much he's really willing to give and where his heart is really at. Is it with Haiti, or is it in his pocket?
Don King one did a show where all the proceeds were to go to aq hospital. Not only did he swindle many of the doctors out of money, his show was successful and only gave the hospital a small percentage while pocketing the rest for himself.
I never trust anybody who has to publicly announce he or she is doing a good deed. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.Comment

I don't like Bob Arum one bit because of many things... but this is an noble act indeed...
Of course you can say it is a ploy for ticket sales and and and but still if somebody does a good deed it shouldn't be put in the dirt... even if it ends up as 50 dollars... it's still 50 dollars that can help some human beings...
He doesn't need to do it like said he could also spent simply some money by himself but it's an nice gestureComment

Exactly man. You can hate Bob Arum all you want, but the fact is he still helping the people of Haiti, regardless of his motives. I mean he's a businessman. They always have an agenda. I just think its ridiculous to downplay his charitable actions because of who he is as a person. At the end of the day, Haiti is getting much needed financial aid.I don't like Bob Arum one bit because of many things... but this is an noble act indeed...

A dollar per ticket for every fight until the end of the year. It's not about why he's doing it, it's the fact that he's contributing to a worthy cause. That means the 40-50 k for Pac-Clottey, the thousands multiplied by 36 events for Top Rank Live, Cotto-Yuri, etc.
