The only thing I don't like about Bob Arum is when he start doing his hyperbole ****... but, he is not as bad as a lot of people on here make him out to be... I do have a lot of respect and admiration for that man. He is like 80 and going strong he is one of the hardest working promoters out there. I don't know where he gets his energy... I hope I have half of that enery when I am his age...

He gets his energy from where all other promoters get theirs from it’ called greed LOL.

Love him or hate him Top Rank reign supreme, and their match making combined with having a monopoly in talent is only an asset for his company and a liability for those that lack.

People knock Arum for keeping some of his big fights (and fighters) in-house but when you have an array of star athletes in your stable you can afford to do that.

So true about the hyperbolic statements from arum.. That the only thing I dont like about arum too.. But as far as being a promoter I think he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. I mean he made cotto-mosley, cotto-margarito, margarito-mosley, pacquiao-cotto.. He actually makes the big fights happen. the only fighter I see being babied in his stable is JCC jr.

And then proceeded to get up and knock them out in the same round.

I think he’s only babying JCC jr so he can market him later in his career as a son of a Mexican great who also has a large amounts of fights under his belt. Though the majority of the fights are meaningless and true boxing heads can see past it.

what does that have to do with the argument?

world class technical fighters shouldn't get dropped by bums

I always thought that JuanMa is technical more sound and smarter in the ring but after seeing the Mtagwa fight... boy, he was swinging for the fences and really fought ******...

But every young fighter has to go through this and we shouldn't forget that most cats can't take what Mtagwa took... if JuanMa learned from this experience he can still become one of the best fighters in the world.

Right now I still favour JuanMa over Gamboa... Gamboa has so much physical talent but his defence is horrendous at times... I would really like May Senior to take over his training... if he teaches him a bit of defence I really have high hopes for Gamboa...

But right now I would still take JuanMa in a war as long as it lasts... I don't think that Gamboa can take what JuanMa dishes out...
