    Oscar vs. Sturm (deadhorse)

OK i know this is real old and talked about to death, but i saw the fight for the 1st time since it happened. The 1st time i thought Oscar won it easly but im a big Oscar fan i cant really judge at the time cause of the whole emotion and the tension.

I saw it again and i had it a draw.

I had Oscar winning 5 out of the first 7 rounds. ( rounds 1,2,5,6,7) i didnt think Sturm's jab was enough to win those rounds. All he did was throw Jabs and nothing else.

IN rounds 8 to 12 i had Sturm winning four out of 5. I thought Sturm started throwing more combinations and still throwing that jab. Also after the 6 round Oscar was extremly tired (ive never seen him that tired ever)

I think Sturm faught good but i dont see anything anything to get excited about. Oscar is small for a junior middleweight, he sure doesnt have any business fighting at Middle. If sturm would have faught a jermain taylor , B-hop , or a Jeff Lacy(saying they met) he wouldnt be able to stay in that same defense because those body shots and hooks would becoming from a man his size. And he does not have the power to scratch neither of those guys.

** By the way, if you look after the 1st round between rounds, Mayweather keeps spraying damn water into Oscar's nose and it bothers him, just watch it its real funny**

Challengers, like Sturm, has to take the fight to the champ. But although Oscar wasn't the champ, he was expected to win, even by the judges.

Although I think Oscar lost that fight, Sturm could have been a bit more convincing. Sorta like how Pacquiao took the fight to Barrera. He knew he was the challenger and had to make a good showing. Very much like how Morales took the fight to Pacquiao.

If you're the underdog, you have to be more determined to win and show it.

well in my opinion i thought it was a dull fight with both fighter being lacklustre. having said this, we DO expect more from DLH, although having watched most of STURM's fights, I would not have expected much more from him.

Sturm is a technically sound fighter..period. He offers nothing special, no power, and is another contender. He has made his name out of DLH's personal under-performance....and that is it.

Let's WAIT and see when STURM fights a real top middleweight contender like Taylor, Soliman, Ikeke, etc...and not the second tier opponents the average German based "World" champions prefer to pick.

why do u guys say he only offered a jab? he only landed 8 less power connects then DLH, maybe sturms jab was soooo good u guys were in such awe by it u didnt see his lightning quick hooks and uppercuts.

Can you do us a big favor. Discuss a fighter other than:

            Sturm, Tito, or Vitali. Please.

Sturm definitely beat Oscar....but it was not an eye-opening performance.

Sturm should have pressed Oscar more, considering it was apparent that Oscar had absolutely no power at 160.

Sturm coulda made oscar quit or his conor throw in the towl, but i think he was a little scared on the inside, oscar and hagler r his idols i dont think sturm wanted to give a great fighter like DLH a chance to KO him, by the time sturm relized that oscar cant do **** ti was the 11th round. lucky for oscar eh that sturm is a fan of his

real close fight could have been a draw or gone either way, Sturm did not do as much as he had to do to win that fight on that night
