I think I would know the facts more so than you, I was watching the fight that night. It was a GBP PPV.


As I tried to order the pay-per-view of Saturday night's lightweight title fight between champion Joel Casamayor and challenger Juan Manuel Marquez, I noticed something disturbing: I couldn't find it in high-definition.

So I contacted HBO, which is distributing the fight on pay-per-view, and I was told that the fight is simply not available in HD. The fight is not an HBO production -- HBO is just working with the promoters as a distributor -- and the promoters, Golden Boy Promotions, have apparently decided to cut costs by only offering the fight in standard definition.

Wow. I didn't realize that fighting your mandatory who happens to be a top 5 welter (in The Ring rankings) is meaningless. I guess it's better if Pac just fought other top welters out there, like Matthew Hatton, Saul Alvarez, Nate Campbell, and the guido.

They did more than laugh about it. They actually contacted Matthew Hatton's camp to talk about it -- thrice, as per Hatton's camp. Since Floyd only does PPVfights, if he wanted a fight with that top welter, we would have been treated to a possibly record-breaking PPV fight
