Uhhh alot experts believe that the left hook is more effective than a straight right against a southpaw.

yes it can be even more effective.....if it is thrown correctly....what you are referring to is when its shot over the right hand guard over a southpaw.....cotto was throwing it around the side.......it becomes much more effective if it is thrown immedietely after a straight right.....thats the combo to beat southpaws.....str8 right followed by left hook.....a left hook on its own and you will struggle.....

Mosley is in better shape right now than Cotto was when Manny fought him. mosley has never taken a savage beating or been KO'd.

Cotto on the other hand was beaten senseless by that piece of crap cheater Margarito, looked terrible against Jennings and lost to Clottey IMO...he also took alot of punishment in the Clottey fight. To top it off he had to come in at 145 pounds for the pac fight.

Mosley beat Margarito because he was able to throw him off his rythm and hurt him. Somethign cotto could not do.

Roger Mayweather even predicted a Mosley (whom he lavished with praise and called a throw back fighter) ass whooping of Margarito (look it up on youtube).

A win over Mosley at this stage for Floyd is more impressive than anything Manny could do at welter except beating P williams. i gotta give Pac credit though for taking on clottey. I see a tough fight ahead.

Mosley would get spanked by Mayweather. Pac has a better chance on beating may than mosley. Mosley's speed is fast, but not fast enough and he's semi flat footed. He got outboxed by cotto. Pac on the other hand throws fast and from every angle combinations and has footwork, which will test mayweather's defense to the max. Mosley has the better punching power though, but the punches you don't see always hurts the most. Cotto got hurt cuz he didnt see that left uppercut in round 4. After than knockdown, it was a wrap for pac.

The straight right and left hook are probably the two best weapons vs Southpaw and they happen to be Mayweather's main weapons.

As for Cotto's jab being 10x more powerful than Mayweather's straight right...I don't know about that Floyd has knocked guys out with his while I can't recall Cotto knocking someone out with the jab although he did knock Clottey down with it. I'll assume the 10x was hyperbole though.


As for this fight I look forward to this if it happens! Should be an exciting build up too and a good test for Floyd, both guys want this fight bad

I am not trying to convice you that i am a neutral, fan, or a hater of Mayweather. Yes, i dislike Floyd cuz of his talks which he does not back up. But i have back up Floyd on 2 occasions. When there was talk of Margarito vs Mayweateh fight, Floyd will just outbox Antonio to a UD. When Marg fans said Floyd is avoiding him, Antonio was not a a big name/money maker yet. This was befoe retirement.

Then when the Mayweather-Marquez was announced, a lot of hate went to Floyd cuz he has JMM coming up in weight. Well JMM called out Floyd so i have no problem with JMM going up 2 divisions. But my problem is Floyd didn't even try to make weight.

Oscar clearly lost the first fight despite the official decision. He lost 6 of the first 7 rounds.....and only won 3 (possibly) 4 rds......

the reality is that he got handled with ease. Mayweather beat him with out breaking a sweat. The reason the judges had it so close is because oscar pressed the action and floyd fought even more defensivelyminded than usual....but oscar landed *** all.......

Please don't post rubbish about this fight again. It's tiresome.

I still don't understand why they sabotaged the fight in March. I feel like that would be the prime time to beat mayweather.

Manny could def give Floyd problems though based on his footwork, speed and increased head movement. People cite the Judah fight as to why he may give Floyd problems....the fight i would watch is the one against Corley. Based on a few things i saw in that fight i would give pac a very good chance to do some damage in the early rds.

I doubt he would fight Pac in the aggressive manner that he fought Corley.

I say Pac wins the first 3 rds and gives Floyd problems.....but i still see Mayweather winning a 7 or 8 round UD.........

You hit it on the head. Zab does not have the mental toughness. Zab has always had the physical ability to beat any fighter out there, but mental toughness is something he has always lacked. Well atleast after the Kostya fight.
