Cotto gassed way too early in that fight, Cotto clearly wasn't the same after Margarito. Clottey didn't even come with it and Cotto still looked bad in there. I don't think he will be great but MAYBE he can beat a Yuri Foreman.

I think he can still be great.
He just needs a very good trainer/coach, and a different
training environment. If he can commit to that, anything's
possible:

A lot of people thought Pac had gone as far as he could go
when Morales schooled him in part 1 of their trilogy. Pac
had near-zero defense and wasn't too far from a one-trick
pony on offense. He was getting on in years, too.

I think they are just referring to the fact that he can't rise to the top again because of the wars he's been in. I think for the most part, they love Cotto.

Watch the fight again. You can tell that Lampley pretty much wants to suck Cotto's **** judging from the commentary.

co-sign. I also think that his fight with yuri is too early for him at the 154lbs weight. Im a cotto fan and im afraid yuri fight will be his exit on boxing.

Cotto was not a great fighter anyways. Don't get me wrong he is a good fighter, willing to fight the best, always exciting to watch and is always at the top of the division. But to say he is great is overatting him a bit.
