He was about to be put on an international stage, on which he could have spoken publicly about the situation in Haiti, relief organizations, etc...

NOT TO MENTION that he was going to receive a LARGE purse, which he could have donated to Haiti.

All in all, seems like a pretty squandered opportunity given the circumstances. It's only an evening out of his schedule, and win lose or draw at this point that's not what's important anymore, obviously.

I understand where you are coming from. A large purse would be helpful for his family and others in Haiti.

Unfortunately his mind might not be as much on providing monetary support Jan 22 as it is providing mental and emotional support Jan 21.

What happened to the saying "the show must go on"? Buster Douglas fought the fight of his life and beat Mike Tyson after his mom died. He too was in training for the fight when his mom died. I don't care if 20 of my family members die, my moms death would be 100 times worse. No big deal though, Berto was going to lose that fight anyway.

There are more than 6 billion people in this world. I know that you won't be able to read between the lines so I'll make it clear, people cope with loss differently.

There's all kinds of people donating to the Haiti people right now, so winning a big purse isnt going to magicaly fix everyones problems over there.

If it was me, and thank God its not, and I had a huge fight comming up only to have 8 members of my family die, There is noo way in hell I would be able to be mentally prepared for the fight. Would any of you be?
