I respect the thread h. Valid points made in refreshing fashion. At the end of the day the dude is human. He s is not perfect and perhaps it reflects in some of the choices he makes. Same with the rest of us. Lady fan should see this thread cause I think she holds him to borderline godly status.

I'm Filipino, and while Brian Kenny's interview is what nailed it, I amYou're going off an interview where the man can't even defend himself properly?
Some of your points are valid, but you can't **** on a guy who's limited by language and therefore can't fully comprehend or articulate on his answers.
Pac should get an interpreter if reporters are going to ask him hardball questions.
That's my take.
also going by interviews Pac gave in Tagalog, on Philippine TV, on
December 23rd and IIRC, the 29th. Believe me, I'm the last one
to abuse a difficulty in language comprehension in order to attack
anyone, let alone a fighter who I am a fan of.
-I don't believe Pac is juicing.
-I believe he doesn't fear Mayweather.
-I believe he feels he can beat Mayweather.
-I believe he worries how a loss or even a bad win vs. Mayweather
may affect his election chances in May, hence a fight later in the
year would be more appealing to him.
-I believe what he says is that: one day cutoff is absolute minimum,
if he were forced; 14 days would indeed wreck training, but if forced,
he would do it; 24 days is his offer--but he won't commit to an
acceptable 14 days, much less 1 day, because he'll want to restart
negotiations (if ever, later this year) with 24 again.Last edited by horge; 01-20-2010, 07:00 PM.Comment

That's great dude, but Mayweather hadn't offered any sort of compromise until January.I'm Filipino, and while Biran Kenny's interview is what nailed it, I am

So if you're going by those interviews as well you still have to account for the absence of information that is available now.
It would more logical to bring up a more recent interview in Tagalog and then base your opinion off of that.
Brian Kenny asked some hardball questions since I'm convinced he was as frustrated as the rest of us were that the fight was off and I'm sure even Kenny wished Pac had an interpreter so that he and the viewers at home could better understand what's going through Pacquiao's mind.
His explanation in English just didn't cut it for me, but I'm not ****** enough to think that Pacquiao couldn't have explained it better in his native tongue.Comment

If you are Filipino, then you should know by now that Manny cannot answer questions correctly and cannot articulate himself in English if his life depends on it. If you're going by Brian Kenny's interview, then your completely off on this one. I listened to it several times already and have caught Manny being Manny, answering question with irrelevent answers and as always, studdering to death. I can excuse others for not catching that and taking it the wrong way and find Manny su****ious, but from a Filipino that you claim to be, i find it hard to believe that you didn't catch it or don't understand how hard it is to communicate and translate from Tagalog to English. Not just by words, but translating what's in your mind and your emotions.I'm Filipino, and while Biran Kenny's interview is what nailed it, I am

His most crucial answers to Kenny were direct translations
to English of his Tagalog statements made in December.
Pac hasn't changed at all on stating his absolute minimum is
"not the day of the fight".
Unfortunately, beyond that, the doublespeak begins:
He is confirming Koncz' tale of Manny objecting to 14 days
by telling Kenny 14 days would still wreck his training.
He has also said nothing remedying his contradictory website
press statement that nothing less than 30 would do, aside
from NOT stopping Blob from offering 24.
I'd say more, but I have to get dressed for work now.Comment

This is very unnatural for Pacquiao
My only ridiculous explanation for this is that Bob Arum has told him to say certain things to accommadate the marketing ploy of this mega-fight and controversy, but since he's not that fluent in speaking and understanding English, interviews such as these make it awkward and su****ious
I still believe Pacquiao is cleanComment

If what you say is true, it sounds to me like Manny is just confused.

I'm confused myself at wtf happened in the negotiations for the cutoff date.
If he's not "just confused", then Manny is a horrible liar.Comment

I seen this thread before.
Its premise is about a fight "NOT" happening, and begins with "im a floyd fan" or "im a pacquiao fan", and then bashes the fighter who they are a fan of, as if being a fan of the aforementioned bashed fighter is suppose to automatically lend credibility to any statements made about the bashed fighter.
just saying......Comment
