It's true. You have no real class in MMA. Look at it's (core) fanbase.

plenty of kids take up karate at a young age and compete in tournaments. It doesnt define their mastery of it or expertise on the matter.

Fact is Van Damme was a broadway ballet star before becoming an action star.

He may have known some basic moves but the reason why the only move that you will always see in every van damme movie is the splits is because of his professional ballet background, not his martial arts background.

Excuse me, what about Genki Sudo, Cung Le, Fedor, GSP, Big Nog and Randy Couture? Those guys have far more class than guys like Floyd Mayweather or Mike Tyson.

            Jackie Chan vs MMA

Jackie Chan certainly has an opinion about a lot of things and I like him as an actor, but come on... Didn't Jackie Chan learn all of his expertise in the Opera School. Now it was taught by a master kung fu artist, but you trying to tell me, no one can comment about where his expertise can be clouded. MMA is what it is, if you don't like that a man gets knocked down, and someone goes in for the knockout or submission, don't watch it. But that is MMA, and atleast we don't have swords and throwing weapons. Last time I checked, Jackie Chan knew how to use those, but those are okay I guess. I'm just another rant I guess.

out of the ring maybe, but not in the ring.....Mike Tyson never jumped on someone when they were down like a ***.....there should be a certain level of respect, and quite frankly, MMA has no respect

MMA is pretty messed up imo, there is no science to it unlike boxing, boxing is a pure sport, MMA is violent entertainment.

Having said that though respect to MMA fighters out there, its a brutal sport, even more so then boxing (although boxing has its moments).

Jackie Chan is right. I still respect MMA guys because going in to a ring and fighting takes will and skill but it's still a lesser sport. You don't punch guys when they are down. You don't knee them in the head, thats just unmanly.
