This is a perfect excuse for David Haye to continue fighting bums whilst avoid the two best fighters in his division. When is he going to man up and fight Wlad or Vitali?
Haye/Ruiz Winner Must fight Chagaev/Meehan Winner

Too bad for Haye. For some ****ed up reason, the WBA Heavyweight picture will always revolve around John Ruiz, Valuev, and Chagaev, no matter how badly they get owned by another fighter. And why the hell is there a Super Champ, World Champ, and 1 or 2 interims per weight class. I understand unifying the WBA with another belt elevates a fighter to "Super Champ", but why is Mosley considered a super champ?
Reminds me of the IBF 140 lb. picture. They seem to have the same 2 or 3 African fighters as mandatories for the last 3 years now. The WBC and WBO are corrupt in their own right, but the IBF and WBA should be banned. If I was a boxer with a good name that didn't need a paper belt, I would throw the WBA and IBF belts away in the same way Rid**** Bowe threw the WBC belt in the trash.Comment

We shall see. I wont accept any more excuses from Haye after the Ruiz fight. He should drop the belt or pay the winner step aside money to fight one of the Klits. Some people really believe Haye wants the best?
I'm of the opinon, from the start, that Haye took the WBA route and King affiliation exactly for this reason. He can now fight these b.s. fights (which is what he wants) while publicly claiming that he wants to fight a Klitschko, citing "politics" as the road block.
It's a ducking ploy imo.
I could understand why he pulled out the last time. He was handcuffed by the contract and with Setanta going under, he was getting paid relatively little money to fight the two best HWs in the world.Comment

This is an excuse, but even if Haye wanted the Klitchsckos, the WBA wouldn't allow it. Most top level fighters who want the best fights are willing to give up their belt for bigger and better fights (Clottey, Margarito, Hatton, Dawson, Malignaggi, Williams and many others have done so recent memory.) So if the WBA won't allow a unification and if Haye doesn't give up the belt and keeps fighting bums, then his excuse is a rather weak one.Comment

Haye is not dropping that belt unless the Wlad gives him a REGULAR contract.
And no one can blame him for it. Him keeping that belt and putting defenses on it meanshes establishing his name in the divsion.Comment

The WBA are inconsistent. Guillermo Jones hasn't had to fight a mandatory in 18 months, and neither had Daniel Santos. Yet Khan will fight two in a row.
Seems they go by different rules for Don King fighters.Comment

It seems like the cogs in the hw division move exceedingly slow. These high profile heavyweights should be fighting at least 3 times per year; once per year is just not enough and just hurts the sport...Well, since King & Universum have been slow to make this fight between Chagaev and Meehan, he probably will have lots of time for another fight first.
But it's high time Ruiz-Haye was signed and scheduled. Both boxers have fought infrequently the past two years - no sense wasting more time.Comment

It makes me laugh how Amir Khan was being called a fraud, *****, and bum because of rumours circulating that he was going to drop his belt rather than face a mandatory. Now people are calling David Haye out because he may or may not fight his mandatories.
Boxing fans are the worst fans in all sports.Comment

Tomasz Adamek. Everyone take notice of this guy; he's a former cw champion who's moved up to hw and he actually likes to fight and fights relativley frequently for a high profile fighter. This guy is going to breath some life into the hw division and provide some very entertaining fights..
