It's good Khan is doing it but it's what he should have done without question.

He has all the skills to outbox Maidana, wear him down, play it cautious because of Maidana's power, and take the points win. He could maybe stop him but it would be too big a risk to go in after Maidana, Maidana has oodles of power and more than enough to put Khan on his back for good.

It's a 70/30 fight for Khan, it would be more of a sure thing if he wasn't chinny, but he is so we have to give the big puncher Maidana a good chance.

I think Amir will win pretty easily actually, but I hope there is no revisionist history afterwards, and "Maidana is overrated" is not the main excuse!

Khan gets credit in my estimation for splitting with Warren and taking the Maidana fight. Maidana is limited boxing skills wise but is unorthodox,can hit hard, dangerous and capable of causing an upset as proved in the Ortiz fight . This is the first real fight that Khan has taken and the first fight I have had any interest in. Not opting for the padded record canned fights Warren formula which would have been a safe cop out option deserves respect. He has gone up a lot in my estimation just for taking the Maidana fight. Hopefully we will see more substance and less hype now he is fighting under Golden Boy as a promoter,and taking the Maidana fight is a good start and I hope this is indicative of his intentions and future plans.
