Hagler was 32 going on 33 and Leonard was 31 at the tme when they fought...Sugar Ray had been out of the fight game for nearly 3 years and up to that point had never fought at MW in fact he never fought over 150lbs. So in reality he was going from WW to MW and out of the game for 3 years coming back to fight the Undisputed MW Champ who had beaten Tommy Hearns.
