If Berto lost, it will not be seen as a legit win by Mosley anyway because Berto's not in there 100% mentally. There are some things more important than boxing.

Its not about respect. Its about going through with a fight you signed for.

Margarito fought the day his brother was murdered.

              And won.

              Berto has no excuse.
ppl react diffrently to these things, margarito fought in the honor of his brother but u cant expect everyone to wanna do that. margarito was able to focus on the fight, berto obviously isnt, in which case he has every right to pull out. end of the day family is more important than a fight, contract or not. boxing is a job, berto should no doubt take some time of just like everyone else would in a situation like that, if they chose to. vinny paz fought after having suffered a broken neck. does that mean anyone who would quit boxing after something like that is a coward. paz did it so everyone else should?

I bet he is not scared at all. I also would not be surprised that he received some "step to the side" money from GBP.

Berto is proud and I bet he would have fulfilled his obligation even though he is suffering a heavy heart right now. GBP needs a viable opponent for Floyd, so this is great news for them. You think maybe some money was offered to tip the scales on getting floyd a viable opponent? I would not bet against it.
