What a shame, that fight could of potentially been a very interesting fight. I don't mind a Floyd-Mosley fight whatsover though if it comes down to it.

I was looking forward to this fight, but it's nice to see Berto has his priorities in order. I hope he's able to make a difference helping out his family and the people of Haiti.

My thoughts are with Andre Berto and the rest of the Haitian people. I just hope we can see him back in the ring later in the year.
Also if Mayweather vs Mosley does happen, it won't be on March 13th you fools, they need more 7 weeks to promote a super fight like this.
Somebody makes sense here!!!http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/images/faces/haha.gif

As has been stated, it's good to see a professional athlete that has his priorities in order. Family always comes FIRST. Especially in a situation like this. Berto is young and talented and he will have other opportunities. Respect to Berto and the people of Haiti.

I only wish Berto had withdrawn from his fight with Mosley sooner than a week after the quake in Haiti for his sake and the sake of everyone involved in the promotion and those who planned to attend the fight. Not only that, but the delay has led to some speculation that Berto might receive some sort of remuneration or consideration, either present or future, for his delayed decision. I do find it odd that Berto has only visited Haiti once in his life, and after representing Haiti in the 2004 Olympics, as Jemele Hill wrote in the following article:

I'm sure Andre Berto was distraught over the loss of some of his extended family members in the Haitian Earthquake, but this tidbit from Daniel Rafael's blog on ESPN.com might provide some additional insight into Berto's motivation:
Not sure what to make of some phone calls I received Monday night: Informed sources said that even though Berto planned to withdraw from the fight because of his family situation, his adviser, Al Haymon, who also happens to handle Mayweather, made a deal for Berto to get paid (either by the Golden Boy/Mosley side or Mayweather or both) to step aside to allow for Mosley-Mayweather (a much bigger fight than Mosley-Berto) to be put together. One reason it sounded plausible is because, according to a source familiar with the Mosley-Berto contract, the deal had a rescheduling clause in it, in the event either guy had to delay the fight. That clause was not exercised. Perhaps a payment to Berto made that go away.

if mosley fights mayweather, he is going to spoil the pacquiao mayweather fight by beating mayweather. what a shame that will be in a way
