Rick, where are the quotes? You were hellbent on me finding quotes to confirm that ARUM said Pac-Clottey was going to be on HBO.

Well Rick, where are the quotes from Schaeffer, DLH, or any Mayweather that they are even considering Canelo?

Sloppy journalism at it's finest. Funny how Pacquiao never seems to have any of this bull**** flung at him. As the owner of the largest boxing site on the internet, you should try a little impartiality.

I just spoke with someone in Alvarez's camp who swore to me that De La Hoya is flying in for a private meeting with the kid to discuss a Mayweather fight. I'm waiting on Schaefer to get back to me to find out what the story is but Maldonado is their associate in Mexico and I find no reason for him to lie about anything.

Schaefer gave us a FULL VIDEO INTERVIEW a few months ago that Alvarez was a possible opponent for Mayweather. Arum never gave a quote once that Pacquiao-Clottey would be on HBO pay-per-view. Just because someone wrote that it was, doesn't mean it is. And Arum told me that he NEVER told the writer in question that Pacquiao-Clottey was picked up by HBO. He said the writer probably assumed that it was.

I'm not sold that Mayweather-Alvarez will happen. Golden Boy and Top Rank are both after this kid. He makes a lot of money in Mexico and sells thousands of tickets. He is a future goldmine in Mexico.

The question is not whether Mayweather will fight him but whether Alvarez's handlers will take the fight. The kid is only 19 and makes everyone around him a lot of money. It would take a heavy, heavy purse to give him up to Mayweather and even then I think it's a 50-50 shot.
