Comments Thread For: Carl Froch Talks Kessler, Ward, Pascal, Taylor, Much More

During 2008 and 2009 Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch went from cult hero to fans favourite by taking on, and defeating, Jean Pascal, who is the current WBC light-heavyweight title holder, Jermain Taylor, the betting favourite going into their contest, and Andre Dirrell, who was undefeated going into the Froch fight. Carl still has Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham and Andre Ward to come during the course of the Super Six tournament. [Click Here To Read More]

A lot of people dislike Froch, but I think he's the most entertaining fighter in the tournament where styles is concerned. The Dirrell fight was boring and Froch fought kind of dirty, but that was because Dirrell kept holding him. Abraham hits hard and everything, but it can be kind of lame to sit there and watch the guy sit in his shell with a low punch out put.

I think Froch is bitter that his fight with Kessler isn't a unification bout.

One of the most overrated fighters out there. He couldn't even beat Dirrell but has the nerve to try to down play Ward's victory over Kessler. Can't wait for somebody to KO this arrogant bastard. If he was atleast good is arrogance could be somewhat understandable.

          Great interview.

Although I thought Dirrell beat him pretty clearly, Froch is all real talk. He's as candid a fighter as there is. Much respect.

He got lucky two times in a row... I think he won`t be lucky for a third time... He might be a pretty entertaining fighter, but the truth is that he doesn`t have anything except a hard punch...

I'm interesting in finding out how he'll respond to a lost, specifically a KO. He's naturally arrogant. I think everything is overrated about him except his heart.

                    I absolutely hate Froch's style-he has **** defense,walks in straight lines,is slow,etc
BUT....I 100% admire this guy's honesty and willingness to use what abilities he does possess in the ring against people who should be beating him. This man is an abnormality in boxing-I really have NEVER heard of him ducking anyone. The man called out Calzaghe a million times, yet people insult him for it.Only in todays sport do fighters get chastised for calling out the top guys.
Saying all this,he is a guy who has come against the odds of facing Taylor, who is technically very sound with his skills, and against Andre Dirrell, who has the fastest hands in this tournament (ok-so I think Dirrell edged it out,and would probably win a rematch, but Froch never quit),and the solid Jean Pascal-who went on to capture a light-heavyweight belt. These 3 fighters are not punks-they are very talented in their own respect.
Even though I still believe Kessler hands him his first official defeat,I think Carl at least has the determination to continue fighting the best out there regardless of if he is at a disadvantage style-wise or is technically inferior, which is more than I can say about other "cherry-pickers" in this sport that get paid much more than him...
