Yeah. Instead of putting these kids in the deep end to see what they are made of, they get mollycoddled for years and years, and a fan base is built on ethnicity, looks, or whatever, as opposed to building it on great fights and opposition.

Golden Boy these days seem to be all about business these days and they're good at it... They know fighting Timothy is a risk and they just signed Khan so if Kahn took the fight and LOST it would be a waste... Why not just let Khan take a few bouts so GBP could get their moneys worth THEN take the Bradley offer.

Boxing is becoming more and more "revenue" based instead of "achievement" based. Its all about the money. since Khan can put 25,000 in an arena in England, he gets a pass. And since Bradley is a tough night for anyone, and cant sell 2,000 tickets in his hometown, he cant get a big fight.

Imagine of football was like boxing. Last year would be a perfect example. Couldnt you just see the NFL telling the Cardinals "look, we know you won the right to be in the super bowl, but you just dont generate enough buys. So we're putting Dallas in instead".

honestly, i think people are too quick to pull out the "boxing used to be so much better" line. there was a time when the mob controlled almost every inch of boxing, you couldn't land a big fight unless you took a fall for them once in a while. they even got a number of champs up there that were completely useless (think primo carnera). compared to that, boxers skipping a few individual fighters on the rise to the top is small. i'm tempted to let amir khan get away with this one for now, he's young and knows his limits, and there are other guys he could fight right now. if it becomes a pattern, or if later in their careers both bradley and khan become THE superstars in the same weight division and STILL don't fight (*cough floyd cough manny*) then screw it
