Mayweather has always proclaimed to be the best and actually had a great first half in his career, but underachieved in the latter part, beating fighters he was supposed to beat in the first place. The fact that he hasn't faced any real welterweight in a division that he has been campaigning in for a little less than half a decade also adds to questions about his boxing legacy.

Manny, on the other hand, has never uttered any reference to being the best fighter in the world and was never touted to be the next Sugar Ray Robinson or Muhammad Ali. But after an unimpressive start in his career including two losses by KO, is finishing his run with incredible wins over opponents whom he was never meant to beat. Pacquiao is now being considered by some boxing analysts, writers and historians as one of the best to ever laced them up.

The difference between PBF and Manny was that Pacquiao was never meant to have a "route to greatness", but drove on it anyway and is now hightailing his way to the boulevard of All Time Greats. PBF, meanwhile, has taken so many detours on his way to greatness, even a satnav (gps) will have a hard time pointing him in the right direction.
Just cause Pacquiao achieved more than you thought he could doesn't make him an All Time Great, he's yet to beat 1 top fighter at the top of their game since his 1st fight with Barrera. His win over Marquez is controversial and debated... Every other opponent, there was something noticeably wrong with them prior to signing to fight Pacquiao. Too old, too slow, too flat footed... Basically they were on the decline. Floyd, on the other hand, is on top of his game and in his prime, beat him and I will be impressed.

If Floyd moved up in weight and fought a dehydrated, weight drained and never won a big fight De La Hoya, he would be criticized for handpicking a faded opponent.

If Floyd went to 140 and fought IBO Champion Ricky Hatton who had been previously knocked silly into a turnbuckle he'd be criticized as picking the weakest challenge at the weight. Avoiding Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander would not be taken to kindly by the masses.

If Floyd went to welterweight and forced a Post Margarito and post Clottey Miguel Cotto to drain to a 145 Catchweight he would be considered a Fraud and a fake welterweight champion.

If Floyd had 2 close fights with a Mexican warrior like Marquez he would not be let off the hook till he fought him a 3rd time and won clearly. Some would even say he's not undefeated cause he got a gift decision against a Mexican Warrior. like a Castillo perhaps

So simply put, if Floyd followed Pacquaio's route to greatness, he would be considered the biggest Fraud in Boxing. His haters would even come up with names for him like Fraud Gayweather or *****..

It's funny how you only see Manny Pacquiao's last four fights while he has been dominating different weight divisions pre-Diaz.

I dont think his fights against Morales, Barrera, Marquez elevates him over Floyd. Floyd had a stellar career at 130-135 as well. I dont know too many people who will try to argue that Coralles, Hernandez, Chavez, Manfredy, Augustus, Castillo, are bums

His fights against Morales, Barrera or Marquez (Future Hall of Famers) didn't elevate him over Floyd. But his amazing wins against Hatton, Oscar and Cotto and beating he did to them did.

I feel sorry for you, man. It seems like you don't get any sleep at night thinking about how the boxing world views Floyd.

Floyd is a great boxer/fighter but at this time, he has more questions than Manny has answered with regards to their career.

IF PBF ever beats Manny, maybe things will change. But at this time, please accept the fact that Manny is looked at more favourably than PBF because of what they accomplished lately. In their last fights, Manny moved up and dominated Miguel Cotto on his way to capturing the WBO WW belt, while PBF, who failed to make the contracted weight, dominated the lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez in a non-title bout.

In an ever changing world the only question that matters is 'what have you done for me lately?' The obvious answer is that Manny Pacquiao has done more for the average boxing fans than Floyd Mayweather Jr has.

              Sleep tight.

who do you think was the tougher opponent though? morales coming off a loss into each pac fight or an undefeated corrales.

                  Plus, Floyd destroyed Marquez.

Pac had tougher time fighting Erik than Floyd fighting Chico

plus, Manny (lightweight) destroyed Hatton (junior welter) in 2 rounds is better than Floyd (welterweight) beating JMM (lightweight)

                      slap yourself for this statement...
2 fighters who beat eachother to death..and a fighter who really outboxed him to a draw and split decision vs Chico alone couldnt even compare.

you lose crediblity with this nonsense right here...
