Once again *****: understand we're talking about the "NOW"
I'm also comparing Floyds previous fights to Pacs latest with De la Hoya and Hatton and they sold more aswell. If Mayweather fights Mosley and sells more PPVs than Pac - Clottey, does that prove that Mayweather is a bigger draw? Nope it does not because Mosley is a bigger draw than Clottey. You've got to count the opponents pulling power when looking at numbers.

Floyd sold the fight on himself

      Pacquiao had a dancing partner

Guarentee if Mayweather fought Cotto this spring it would do better numbers than Pacquiao-Cotto

      Numbers dont lie man
He even said himself before the fight that Marquez has his whole country behind him.

Potential "ring rust" helped to sell the Mayweather / Marquez fight. Marquez as a good counterpuncher sold that fight as well. Mayweather's potential skills are always a constant variable in selling the fight.

A couple more PPV's on Mayweather's part will reveal more than anything else. I feel his numbers could be slipping. I do believe the common boxing viewer is wising up to his potentially boring wins.

This is why Pacquiao, in my opinion is the bigger draw now and could potentially remain the bigger draw. People want to see him demonstrate his KO skills. Having a dance partner is a silly arguments since part of Pac's appeal is that he fights people who the general populous will consider a good opponent. Unfortunately, the general consensus nowadays for Floyd's apponents is just the opposite.

Like I said, a couple more PPV's will say a whole lot for Floyd.

If the chips continue to fall as they are then I believe Floyd will truly have to fight opponents who the populous feel will challenge him the best or I believe his PPV numbers will suffer significantly.

comparing fighters PPVs by their common opponent is also inaccurate giving the fact that fighter A. fought the said opponent in a different timeline compared to fighter B.

the common opponents value may have increased or decreased over time.

a simpler but not much better way is comparing the most recent fight.. just treat the matchup of each fighter as a whole..in this case its packy whose got a bigger value.

So comparing PAC's previous fights with Floyd's current fight will prove who is NOW the bigger drw as your logic says.

Pacs previous with Floyds current? Why do you keep saying that when Floyd fought DLH and Hatton before Pac? It's better than comparing sales from 2 different opponents.

Who cares about the draw. Pac has the upper hand when negotiating against floyd if he wins against Clottey.

                Pac is ahead.

                1) Better Legacy
                2) More money in the bank, don't owe the IRS money and can walk away from the fight if he doesn't like the terms (proven already).
                3) Fame (almost everyone is saying that the PacMan is the reason why there's a resurgence in boxing viewership).

Floyd needs to fight pacquiao to make real money. If he decides to play KFC with his next fight (insert - Mathew Hatton, Paul Malignaggi, Nate Campbell) then I'm quite sure he's going to be at a "disadvantage" in the bargaining table as his PPV numbers definitely won't beat Pac vs Clottey.

Nobody cares though, because you get a higher quality product when you bump some John Legend.

but miley cyrus gets more paparazzi coverage & is more exciting outside the music studio. Hence, she is the better musician.

[QUOTE=2501;7282107]Mayweather never fought Cotto because he said cotto was not a PPV draw. He COULD have fought Cotto when he came back, but chose to fight Marquez who Floyd said was a bigger draw than Cotto and a had a whole country behind him.

Well, Pacquiao sold 1.2 Million with the guy Floyd said no one knew and wasn't a PPV draw.

                    Number dont lie man.[/

If anyone believes that JMM is a biger draw than Cotto they are crazy. Jmm fought Diaz in Houston shows you that even Diaz is a bigger draw than JMM. Floyd fought Baldomir and Carlos has a fan following of 17 people and had good numbers.

Pacquiao is a bigger draw in the Phillipines but on a global scale Mayweather is bigger
