Hey, the proof is in the pudding.
Calzaghe vs. Jones = 200,000 buys.
Hopkins vs. Pavlik = in between 150,000 and 200,000 buys.

I am so sick of hearing about Pavlik....iI lost track of how many times the Williams (who IMO is overrated anyway) fight was delayed, but didn't Pav fight Espino around the same time he cancelled the Paul fight?? What's Pav's claim to fame? Ko'ing ANOTHER overhyped (tho I like him personally) on his way downhill fighter....yes to come back from a 2nd rd knockdown to KO him ltr was impressive--taking nothing away from that. Rematch---nothing special, but he won. Beating YET ANOTHER OVERHYPED fighter in Miranda??? Kelly is nothing special in my opinion...flat footed, yes he has power, but it's like having Al Gore as MW champ...BORING....Bhop fights are pretty boring, but the dude has a personality...and he EMBARRASED Pavlik...I'm so sick of hearing his name...just fight already, a real fighter...this is almost as bad/sad as the HW division...this is who represents the MW champion of the world? Yea, Kelly belongs in the same league as Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Robinson, even Hopkins....soon as he ko'd JT, I was thinking oh great, this is the face of the MW division....a pale, personality of a cinderblock boring guy. Kinda like Chad 'Marblemouth' Dawson....starts to make me appreciate Floyd a little more, and I am NO Floyd fan, **** his amazing boxing skills, I hate the dude.

I'm not sure why people are describing Paul as being overrated, based mostly on his fight with Martinez. Sergio is obviously very slick and he also happens to be very good. He would be a tough matchup for anyone, including Floyd.

IF NOT, HAVE THE WINNER GET THE 60-40 AFTER THE FIGHT IS OVER.REAL FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR P-DUB/GHOST FOR A MINUTE NOW,NOT MARTINEZ/GHOST. AS FAR AS THE PPV DECISIONS ARE CONCERNED,HBO WILL MAKE A BIG TIME MISTAKE BY HAVING JONES/EX ON THE SAME DAY AS SUPER 6, U GET A DOUBLEHEADER OF ;1-THE FAVORITE DRE VS POSS GREEN ,2-FROCH/KESS IS WAAAY BETTER THAN WHAT JONES/EX WILL HAVE TO OFFER WITH THEIR I'M GUESSING WEAK PPV UNDERCARD THAT WONT BE WORTH $50...

            absolutely true
but Martinez showed how vulnerable Paul W. style really is. it seems he doesn't care a lot about defense anymore, he's reckless in his attack, but Martinez is one hell of a fighter

I agree. Factor in that getting ready for the right-handed Pavlik threw Williams off when he ended up facing the lefty Sergio Martinez.

Plus HBO prefers Williams-Martinez to Pavlik-Martinez. That tells you who the bigger draw is in the network's eyes.

So you think Williams is a bigger draw than Pavlik?

How many people did Pavlik draw, in HIS OWN HOMETOWN, against Espino?

Why does HBO want Williams-Martinez but not Pavlik-Martinez?

                  Draw your own conclusions.

Pavlik cooled off. He was arguably the second hottest fighter in boxing before he lost to Hopkins. All his casual, redneck, death metal blasting fanbase went back to UFC. He's not a draw anymore. I mean you guys said it, he did 3,000 fans in his backyard. His resume blows. Taylor has proven how overrated he's always been since losing to Pavlik. Paul Williams is almost certainly more popular nation wide at this point. Pavlik deserves the lower cut, despite what the krusty *** thinks.
