Comments Thread For: Pavlik/Williams/Martinez Circle; HBO's PPV Decisions

The negotiations continue between the camps of Kelly Pavlik, Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez. Because of the politics involved, no deal is on the horizon for any combination of the three guys. BoxingScene.com spoke with Top Rank's vice president Carl Moretti on Saturday morning, who told this reporter that Pavlik-Martinez is still an option they are exploring but the two sides were far from an agreement. Top Rank is still waiting on available dates from Atlantic City to get a better idea on when Pavlik can return. [Click Here To Read More]

What a surprise, Bob Arum was lying that HBO confirmed that they were going to televise Pac-Clottey on PPV March 13th. What a surprise!!!! I didn't see that one coming at all!!!

What was the original Pavlik Williams split? 60-40?

Yeah Team Williams aint having it because Pavlik signed to fight Paul twice and pulled out. Almost costing Williams a loss.

Fraud mayweather won't fight on mar 13 and if he does and its not against williams he is making the biggest business mistake of his career. even if it's against williams pac clottey will be the bigger fight. If he does pick mar 13 and it is not against williams I don't see how HBO can go with floyd over pac. this is business and it is a pretty lopsided if floyd is fighting a joke like nate, malinaggi or cintron. PAC clottey is for a Welterweight title in COWBOY STADIUM WHERE THERE COULD BE 40K PLUS FANS. floyd will struggle with his ppv and getting fans into the seats unless he is fighting mosley berto winner or williams. I THINK JMM HELPED OUT A LOT FOR HIS LAST PPV WITH IT BEING HELD ON THE MEXICAN HOLIDAY AND ANYONE WHO WATCHED IT REALIZED IT WAS 80/20 MEXICAN TO FLOYD FANS.

It needs to be in favor of Pavlik since he is the champion and the attraction. But he does need to come down a bit...55-45 or so.

You just called Duckquiao-Clottey bigger than Mayweather-Williams?

Where did he confirm that? I've yet to see "him" quoted.

i think it should be 50/50 because of pavlik pulling out twice which could have cost pwill big money. however, pavlik isn't going to fight a high risk guy like pwill for 50/50 when he is clearly the bigger draw. it sucks for pwill but the guy has got to get a bigger fan base. i like him a lot but he needs to start knocking guys out or continuing to have exciting fights like the martinez one.
