Manny says "huwag naman sa araw ng laban" (literally 'just not on
the day of the fight itself' --which really means a 2-day cutoff) on
video, TWICE in the last week of December.

Then, after Arum's first tantrum, Pac's put into ziploc, no more
interviews (even to this day!); and lo and behold, Pac's website
has a surprisingly articulate statement, in English, allegedly from
Manny, that he's always been firm on 30 days, just like Blob (!!!!)
This is not ten days after Pac's verbal-on-video request for at
    least a 48-hour cutoff.

All we've heard since then is Blob's and Koncz' version(s) of what
    happened or will hapen.

I think Schaefer's right: no one told Manny about a 14-day offer.
Not until the arbitration had failed, if at all. By then, Arum was
determined not to make the fight happen, and had moved onto
    the Clottey/Dallas angle.
Now that could very well be true but he still definitely heard after the fact and still didnt come with it. Im not mad at Pac though. Its probably better for both guys that it happeneds at the end of this year

Yep that's called racism / nationalism and is the only reason nobody can argue against Pac without getting banned or flamed.

The OP of this thread is relating it as if the last days of the negotiation was going smoothly and amicably. It was not. Arum was seething in anger at the folks sitting in the opposite side of the table; Pacquiao has just filed a lawsuit and was obviously pissed at the Mayweather camp for smearing his name. (The OP doesn't seem to understand this as if the situation is normal.) I am a Pacman fan because I like his style of boxing. I would have hoped that he accepted the opponent's demand just to end all these senseless debates.

But if I were in his shoes at that point I would have none of the Mayweathers and his allies and all I could think of is have them punished in one way or the other. I wouldn't even listen if they offered a 1 month cut off. I'm mad and let them go to hell.
I never said anything about it going smoothly at the end. I said the whole time that they knew about the date from the jump and was fine but then out the blue went crazy when everything else was done. At the end, Arum didnt like the other side but he himself & Koncz said that they still took the 14 day offer to Pac and Pac is the one that said NO

The point is, even if Manny said yes or no AFTER arbitration failed,
we'd never know. He's been gagged, and it's just Koncz and Arum
          who've been telling.

If we go by what we KNOW beyond dispute to be Manny's opinion:

          1. He'll tolerate a minimum of 2 days' cutoff, but prefers far more.
          2. He's super-pissed at Floyd Sr. to the point of litigation.

Neither would've torpedoed the fight, so someone else's agenda did.

I totally disagree with that. You take Pac at his word but I dont. I mean, Arum talks **** but he's the greediest cat there is. If Pac told him that he'll take the test up until 5 days prior then Arum takes that fight. Shoot, Arum was the one who basically forced the 24 days. Everyone else was saying 30 days but when Arum saw that Hatton vid, he went to find out the real date and changed it to 24

The fact that Roach is certain that Manny will "pass with flying colors" just meant to me that they're really not hiding anything. This is the American side of Manny's camp where steroid use is rampant. The unlikeliness of it is practically nil in the Philippine side. Absolutely nothing you can find there. (Just visit the Philippines someday and see for yourself. You'll find some of the most advanced and biggest shopping malls. And they have white beaches there, too. LOL.) Basically, this talk about Manny taking roids is just that, crap.

I dont know!!! Am just stating facts on what happened according to Roach himself.

              • The sides had quickly agreed on most points in the negotiations and the drug-testing dispute has been the only sticking point in the last month in an attempt to make the bout between the men widely regarded as the top two fighters in the world.

The highly anticipated bout seemed to be going down the drain Friday afternoon as Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz told Yahoo! Sports by telephone from the Philippines that “we’ve moved on and are getting ready to sign a contract to fight Clottey.”

Schaefer, whose company is representing Mayweather in the talks, said Friday he isn’t sure Pacquiao is aware that Mayweather agreed to cut off testing 14 days before the fight and to have it administered by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Bruce Binkow, the chief marketing officer of Golden Boy Promotions, on Dec. 30 offered a 14-day cutoff as a compromise via instant message to Top Rank president Todd duBoef, who replied on Dec. 31 that “14 is no good.”

Schaefer said he believes the fight can be salvaged over the weekend and the first step is making certain that Pacquiao is aware of Mayweather’s 14-day offer. “There are reports [on the Internet] that Manny is not aware of this and we want to make certain that he knows what Floyd has agreed to do,” Schaefer said.

However, Koncz said he was informed of the offer by promoter Bob Arum and that he brought it directly to Pacquiao, who would not even consider it. Koncz said Pacquiao was very firm in his decision.

“Bob called and told us about the 14 days and I brought that to Manny and he said, ‘I told you, we’re not agreeing to that,’ and that was pretty much it,” Koncz said.

Schaefer called Mayweather’s offer “a very fair, very reasonable compromise solution” and said Mayweather is still eager to fight Pacquiao on March 13. Both Schaefer and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe have denied speaking to any potential other opponents, though Mayweather has been linked through numerous published reports with Paulie Malignaggi.

“We’ve focused solely on getting a fight done with Manny Pacquiao and that’s it,” Ellerbe said.

“Manny would be willing to fight Mayweather, but the tenor of negotiations would be a lot different in the future,” Koncz said. “Manny was very accommodating before, because he wanted to get this fight done and to satisfy the fans, who wanted it very much. Billing is important to Manny, but he gave that up to accommodate Mayweather’s ego because [Manny] wants to go out as the best fighter there ever was and, clearly, Mayweather is one of the best.

                • [quote=DLT;7280374]IDK man. To me it doesnt seem like its in Pac's makeup or character to respond like that. It just came off weird to me. I know he doesnt like certain things about it but for him to emphatically say NO about 2 weeks is a little strange. I mean he couldve even said give me 20 days or something but his team made

This will be talked about for a long time. The fact that Pac was ******** by Konz as personally refusing does give it an extra element of su****ion. But go with me for a second. If the offer was on the table pre-mediator what was Pac expecting to achieve at the meeting? It was obvious there was still an interest or there would have been no meeting. Floyd had already compromised on the testing with the 2 weeks out, that was rejected so what was left? What is sad is that no one inside boxing, a sport where people are beaten to death and ruined mentally, other than Teddy Atlas is stepping up saying," let's take the cloud of su****ion away and start talking about a system that incorporates random, year round, blood and urine testing. I thought boxing was a sport about the will of the human spirit and the courage to stand up when you don't think you can anymore?
