Confirmed: Ortiz back on February 25th...

He just confirmed with me that he will be on a thursday night showdown on february 25th...No opponents mentioned yet but I think he's waiting for a Maidana rematch; hoping that Khan vacates...since GBP has offered maidana more money for this rematch recently...Khan has until february 12th to make a press conference...Ortiz will be the replacement fighter for Maidana...and I do think you guys are right about this being on fox net...Ortiz Vs Maidana II will be a more exiting fight than Khan Vs Maidana IMO...

I wonder if he thinks he should be getting hit like that anymore?

He'll be ok...but he should consider a new trainer...I can see Mayweather Sr being a perfect trainer for him...

I was being a prick. I think he can still have a great career. He just has to be willing to give a bit more to get what he wants from the sport. If not, he's not going anywhere.

It's all good I just want this kid to be something big because his story if very inspiring and he seems to be a good rolmodel and good for boxing's market...Besides the skill we need a super star that can bring more to the table than just skills ya know? That's what boxing is missing...

Good post. I gave you green K but it got cut off at "goo."

He seems like a really nice kid and a great role model for kids, for sure. I'm sure he learned a lesson from all the negative comments that have been circulating about him after he quit against Maidana. I know he can win a rematch. He could have won that fight but was beaten mentally.

That's what's up yeah that's what boxing needs...I just don't like how cold hearted boxing fans can be I cheer for the underdog...unlike Khan this kid built his career on his own and did alot for himself...I'm sure he learned alot to...but to diss someone who worked hard and litterally went through hell when they made a simple mistake to progress; it's pretty prikish to say he's completely done...

                No thanks.

We already saw what happens when he's faced with adversity. He would rather quit instead of fighting.

I hear you man. A guy gets a couple losses and the fans flip on him and say he's a ***** and a *****. I've seen it happen with many fighters. Taylor, Pavlik, Ortiz, Diaz, Campbell etc.....

We don't know how it's like to get hit constantly by 8 ounce gloves...it's a bad fashion how he lost but hey look who boxing fans are rooting for we got James Kirkland who is in jail...Floyd that has different kids with different women and his car was used on a shoot out? But we hardly come accross a success story like the one of Ortiz...If he lost he lost and won't make the same mistake...lets look at the future of the sport and look for a super star that can keep the sport alive by doing more than just fighting...Ortiz is a decent fighter though very good power and combos...and along comes a story unlike today's rising stars...If you have heart as a human and heart as a fan you would consider not giving up on someone that went through crap and realize that boxing saved this young man's life...it's a blessing when something you like does something positive for someone else...
