    New super heavyweight division?

    New super heavyweight division?
WBA, WBC & IBF Meeting in Cancun

    By Gabriel F. Cordero

A new super heavyweight division will be one of the items on the agenda when principal members of the IBF, WBA and WBC meet on Friday in Cancun, Mexico. Those in attendance are to include WBC President José Sulaimán, WBC Executive Secretary Mauricio Sulaimán, WBC legal advsor Gabriel Peñagarícano, IBF President Marian Muhammad, IBF advisor Larry Hazzard, WBA Executive Vice-President GIlberto Jesus Mendoza and WBA ratings director Oliver Gómez.

“My expectation would be to continue with the good and close inter-organtization relations for the benefit of boxing,” said Mendoza Jr. who also plans to address the main threats to world boxing, such as alternative sports, the economic crisis, and the lack of boxing figures as ambassadors of the sport.

The agenda of the meeting in Mexico includes:

    1. Unifications of titles
    2. Inter-organizational classifications of boxers
    3. Working with local and national boxing commissions
    4. Creation of the super heavyweight division
    5. Proposed McCain legislation in the USA

I'd like to think something good will come out of this meeting.

Then again, José Sulaimán wants to ban father/son trainer/fighter combination, swearing (he banned Arreola 60-days for his f-bombs...but why not Diaz?!?), amongst other wacky ****. Fuuck him!

Wonder what the weight cut off would be?

Maybe they should try it. We would have a lot of heavyweights finally fighting each other instead of trying to cash in on a big payday vs. the Klit.bros.

It might even weed the big circus fighters out of boxing since there would not be as many fights for them?

Last thing we need is another division! Bad idea. How about a convention for unbaised rankings and another for sanctioning bodies not being about profit and focusing whats good for the sport!

That Agenda sounds good, except the Super HW division!!!!!

Inter-Organitational rankings is great for the sport
