all this talk about the physical tools that Taylor has that equal or surpass Hopkins is missing the point by a mile. Hopkins will beat Taylor with his mind. one way or another, be it before or during the fight, Hopkins will get inside Taylor's head by doing or saying something. look what he did against ultra confident Tito and Flag Gate. Hopkins will take Taylor off his game plan. He'll be aided in this endeavor by the fact that Taylor hasn't been on this kind of stage before and will have nerves. Hopkins has been here before and knows in his heart that he will defeat this kid. he's done it at least 20 times before. After Taylor is taken off his game plan, Hopkins will pick away at whichever gap in Taylor's defense he chooses. at the end of the fight, i'm thinking Hopkins will have taught Taylor a valuable lesson with which he should/could win the middleweight title AFTER Hopkins rides off into the sunset.
i'm thinking Hopkins by UD...

I pick JT by stoppage in the championship rounds. There is no way that the old man is making it even though he is a great fighter. JT is much too strongComment

Hopkins fought Tito, Joppy, Eastman, and De la Hoya.....all of which are more dangerous than Taylor. Who has Taylor beat.....that gives you the impression that he is god?
a washed up joppy...who had a shoulder injury and was undersized.
a washed up Marquez...who was fighting when Jermaine was collecting and trading baseball cards with his friends.
Hopkins has twenty times the experience, and has taken bigger shots....proven his heart in the ring, and even proved he is a bigger puncher. He ****ing knocked DLH out with 1 punch to the kidney. Taylor likes to hide behind his jab and throw the right. Why in the hell would Hopkins NOT slip those punches...and take the fight directly to him. Dont you remember Hopkins showing his heart in the Echols fight? He dislocated his ****ing shoulder, and continued to fight like a man.
Hopkins could beat Taylor from the outside, or the inside, or not even show up and beat Taylor. This is simply a matter of people jumping on a bandwagon....just like the Eastman fight.
Big puncher...PPFFFF. Taylor who?
eastman offered nothing more than expected.
delahoya was fighting way above weight & crumbled.
Robert Allen was beaten for the 3rd time.(well one ko loss & a nc)
Morrad Hakkar ran all night putting joppy to shame.
and who the **** is carl daniels.
B-hop hasnt been tested for along time. the tito fight includedLast edited by Zn1; 05-05-2005, 06:23 AM.Comment

You can't have it both ways my friend. If he wins, it's because he is the better fighter, if he loses it's because he's NOT the better fighter. Simple.

Originally posted by legendIf that is Hopkin's excuse if he loses, then he shouldn't even climb in the ring. Nobody cares if age loses him the fight, even if that is the true reason. People in general look at excuses as pathetic.
Do you see how pathetic that would sound? Here's a clue: Hopkins after beating Taylor: "I am so great"
Hopkins after he loses to Taylor: "Man, it's because I'm old".
LMAO!! It's pathetic because if he wins, people say he's great and if he loses, people say he's too old, therefore discrediting everything the other fighter did by beating him. That's bush-league bull****.Comment
