What if Cotto faced Holt instead of Torres?

How would Cotto have done against natural 140lber and a big puncher in Holt back then? Keeping in mind Cotto must have had a hard time making 140 and Holt certainly had enough power to put him down.....any ideas or analysis?

Holt has serious speed and good power, but he doesn't take well to pressure. Cotto would have him hurt and out.

Cotto would've knocked Holt out, Holt would have success early and maybe even put Cotto down but Cotto would've gotten back up and stopped Holt in the mid to late rounds.

Holt woulda put a hurting on Cotto, but i still think Cotto would prolly win. Holts got a lot to learn, and he'll be a great champ someday soon.

torres was more than a natural 140 pounder though.

first off, Holt may have power but does not throw anywhere near the bombs that Torres does. Holt was lucky enough to have a great headbutt to knock torres out before the punch did.

Holt wouldve lost to Cotto and shouldve lost to Torres in thier rematch. Torres wanted him early and put him down twice then got caught with a headbutt ,

Holts style is perfect for Cotto cause Holt gives his opponents time to reset and think. Cotto can outthink that guy anyday

Look Holt won the fight with Torres after that hometown stoppage....it wasn't a headbutt that put Torres down having him slumped on the ropes it was a clean right hand.

Cotto most likely would win because Holt is not known for his granite chin but he would always have a punchers chance against Cotto and is still a dangerous fight for anyone at 140 today.

Are you trying to say Torres wasn't a natural 140lber? Torres is bigger puncher than Holt.

No, stop looking for something insignificant to argue about....this has nothing to do with Torres at all....IDK where you are getting this from.
