Boxing has weight classes...Not Height classes.

Stcik to watching Rachel Ray..leave boxing alone.

You'll begin to see a list of excuses made by Mayweather fans, as to why he shouldn't/wouldn't fight Paul Williams, but the name Matthew Hatton makes their legs tingle.

    • Don't see why people would bash Floyd for not taking this
fight when Mosley went on the record and said that he don't
want it with Paul and Cotto fought for Paul's title vacantly
because he didn't want to fight williams either. In my opinion
stylistically, Mayweather Jr's slick counter punching style would
be a problem for Paul Williams as we witnessed with Sergio
Martinez. Paul was eating right hands all night and that's Floyd's
best punch. All Mayweather would have to do is neutralize
Williams pressure and work rate. I hope Floyd takes a tough
challenge because he already had his tune up with JMM. I
would say wait for the winner of Berto/Mosley or fight Timothy
Bradley. Eventhough Timothy is a JR Welter, he is still a live
wire who just annihilated one of the Peterson brothers so many
people were making a big fuss about.

      • I don't particularly blame Floyd for not taking this fight (assuming he won't), this is just one of those times where a great fighter (in this case a self-proclaimed one) has the chance to step up and do something great, something above and beyond what would be considered normal in boxing. Personally I don't think Floyd would win anyway, just as I doubt Manny would beat Floyd. Hell I think Oscar would have beaten Floyd if he hadn't let off the gas...

Don't agree. How do you let someone beat you? Do you think
Oscar wanted to lose? He let off the gas because Floyd got
better as the fight went on and Oscar couldn't hang down the
stretch. Did you see Oscar's face as the fight continued? Or
did you see the punch stats connects after? On another note
after seeing Williams fight Martinez, am not so sure that Paul
beats Floyd how so many think. I do agree if Floyd were to
take Paul on then it would definitely be a good look for him
instead of Malignaggi and or Campbell. Floyd needs to show
the fans and the Sport of Boxing as of recent, what he is
          made of.

I understand your point, and you could be right. First, on Oscar I just
seriously doubt he still had the drive to fight through his bs aches and pains
and may have not even trained as hard as he would have early in his career. I personally think the momentum swing in the second half of the fight came as a result of the combination of Floyd making more of an effort to win rounds and Oscar's punch output dropping (which just made it easier for Floyd to come on). Second, Martinez and Floyd are two completely different fighters. Floyd would never stand in against Paul and slug the way Sergio did, and I doubt he has the power to seriously hurt Paul anyway. I could easily see this fight starting the way PBF-Oscar did...and ending that way as well. Paul ain't Corrales lol

Edit: I just want to clarify that by saying Oscar let off the gas, I don't mean like Oscar-Trinidad, I don't think he was physically up for the second half of that fight, and not mentally strong enough to push himself.

            • If Ray Leonard could fight an undefeated one punch KO artist like Thomas Hearns, then The so-called "great" Mayweather can fight Williams. It would be a great fight.A victory over Paul would make him great. But it doesn't have to do with management,Floyd just doesn't have the heart anymore to fight someone that good.

That's what I'm beginning to think.

Ok, I see where you are coming from and you made some good
                  points.

SRL started his career at WW and won a super middleweight title in his career. Why are you comparing the two?

I like and think Floyd is an extraordinary talent but am starting
to feel the same about him as well. He needs ATLEAST two very
tough challenges before he bows out again.
