Ok great now let the fun begin. Here is an interview directly taken from Mikkel site.
Mr. Palle and Kessler left Copenhagen Thursday morning Danish time, as they are supposed to be ringside Saturday at the Calzaghe - Jones fight.
Who do you see as the winner?
"It's difficult to say, but if the fight goes the distance, I suspect that Calzaghe will be the winner, but Roy Jones is an excellent counter puncher and he might catch Calzaghe."
Who would you prefer to box?
"I would like to get a rematch against Calzaghe and with a right hand that's now working again, I should be able to win. The only problem is, that Joe doesn't want to fight me again at least that is what he told me." Here a bit before his fight against Sartison.
I still feel mentally and physically stronger than my opponent Sartison as my preparations for this fight has been successful. Both of my hands is working again and if everything goes according to my trainers, Montoya and Richard I should end the fight within six rounds. A bit before, again, on his own site.
What can you say about a guy like Mikkel? Honestly. He was impressive, even in losing, against Joe Calzaghe, and if his hand really was an issue as he claims a few more solid wins should provide exactly the kind of sparkplug justification to see a rematch with Shoeless Joe Calzaghe.
The irony is Calzaghe was the one who usually has hand problems.
In any case Mikkel is slated to fight Dimitri Sartison next. The WBA super middleweight title is at stake in Copenhagen on June 21.
Laugh as one might, if Vassiliy Jirov was any indication, Sartison may well have been trained by running from onrushing German Shepards, before he was shipped off to their homeland of Germany.
What do you know about this Dmitri Sartison character who youīre slated to fight?
"Well I know his record: 22 fights, 14 KO. I saw one of his fights with my trainer Jim Montoya. Heīs a dangerous opponent but Iīm sure Iīll win."
How is training coming along for the fight?
"Good. My first time in Big Bear. The air is very thin, and it was difficult at first but I am adjusting to it and getting better and better. In twelve days time I adjusted very well. Did six rounds of sparring today."
Before his fight with Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins went on to say he doesnīt think much of you, because you hadnīt done a lot in your career. In retrospect, I think it was said more to try and undermine Calzaghe and his accomplishments in front of the public but that is beside the point. How do you react to such statements? Do you consider it part of the way the sport has to be marketed or do you take it personally?
"I really havenīt heard or seen what he has said. Did he say good things?"
Well what he said was he didnīt think Kessler did a lot to that point in his career, but in his own Hopkinsī way of saying things.
"(Laughing) Oh I only heard he said good things. Of course Iīd like to fight him and kick his ass real bad but that is just a personal wish not having to do much with anything he said.
I thought the fight with Calzaghe wasnīt a real fight if you ask me."
Of course I was going to ask. What did you think of Calzaghe-Hopkins?
"Both are awkward fighters who like to hold a lot and because of that I donīt think it was a real boxing match. They are both good fighters, Hopkins has his routine, Calzaghe too, but they are both match fighters I would say."
I take it you would fight Calzaghe again too right?
"Yea thatīs my dream fight if he gave me the rematch. That was my one loss, and Iīm not making an excuse so much as saying the truth about my hand. I hurt it real bad and couldnīt spar well, even one month after the fight. Everything was wrong. Iīve seen a lot of fighters get rematches but he did tell me he wanted to fight me again, and since that is my only loss, of course I want to show him I am a better fighter."http://www.mikkelkessler.com/default.asp?language=enuk#

This was great fun. I was about to try and find some footage of Mikkel making excuses live on youtube, but I think I have enough evidence to show I was right and you were wrong. Kessler did make excuses after the Calzaghe fight. I make you eat your words. And it's great ! The other idiots who revered your comments here about me now look as ****** as you do. And it's great !
