What, like Castillo and Corrales don't walk around near 160 pounds themselves. Castillo has even fought at 147 for three fights and then dropped to 135 to fight Lazcano, remember? Castillo came in around 160 for those fights, too. And Corrales has been called the next great middleweight for a while because he also drains himself too much for fights. He's 6 feet tall for Christ's sake! I've seen his interviews on ********** and he always says it is hard for him to make weight and he will probably end up fighting at 154. I think this will be his last fight at 135 and then he'll move up to 140 regardless.

I wonder when Cotto and Tito are going to fight a legit fighter in their own weight class.
Why not? If he can make the weight, just like Corrales did for 130 and does for 135, and Castillo did for his fight against Lazcano (where he stepped into the ring at 18 pounds over the limit) then why shouldn't Cotto fight at 140? BTW, I don't remember anyone bitching about Castillo coming in so heavy that day. Nobody bitches about Gatti, either. Remember the Gamache fight? Yeah, what a bunch of hypocrites.

As for Winky and Tito, Winky was the one who called Tito out, not the other way around. I don't blame him, either, since that's where the money is. He wanted to go up to Middleweight a while back and fight Hopkins before DLH did, remember? Winky as fought at 154 his whole career, it's time he moved up.

          You're missing the point....

There's just something quite ridiculous about a guy who fights at 140, while weighing nearly 160.....calling out guys who fight at 135. Whether they weigh more than that at fight time is irrelevant.
          Cotto should call out 140lbers.

He should be calling out the winner of Tszyu-Hatton.

Actually, I believe he doesn't call anyone out, he lets his managers decide. That being said, Arum, who does the calling outs, is calling out the winner of Gatti - Mayweather. How's that for staying in your division? Also, what's the difference between Cotto, Corrales, and Castillo? If you're talking about the weight they walk around at or they come into the ring then not much. They are about the same size so why not call them out?

                hmm

came in around 160 for those fights, too.
Castillo has never (and by never I mean never ever) weighed within 6 lbs of 160 on any given fight night. 153 lbs is not "around" 160. It's "around" 150. 153 IS what it IS...153. Castillo does come in very big for 135 but that doesn't mean Cotto should call him out.

In any case, I can't believe the nerve of some of you. Castillo will not have to drain himself like Cotto will to make weight at 140, so if Cotto fights Castillo at 140, Cotto wll lose. He will simply get tired from the weight issue and Castillo will not.

As for Corrales, he has pleny enough power to stop Cotto. You guys will find out the hard way.

I think you mean moot, not mute. Either way, are you talking about Abdullaev? That should be an interesting fight but I don't think Cotto is getting beat by him.

I remember when Castillo fought Lazcano and came in 18 pounds over the weigh in on the DLH - Sturm undercard. Everyone was picking Lazcano because Castillo had to drain himself to make that fight and look what happened. So, to say that a fighter who has to drain himself to make weight will lose automatically is a fallacious statement.

Also, when he fought Corral, the fight after his second Mayweather loss, he walked into the ring at 160 pounds (the official weight was 147, tho).

As for Corrales having the power to KO Cotto, I do believe he does but he'd have to get into the late rounds to do it and I think Cotto would take him out before that. Corrales doesn't exactly have the best chin in the business.

Cotto will not lose soon, he will tighten up his Defense and make adjustments from last fight and be a major force, you all well see.

No one said that means an automatic win for Castillo. It's just one reason why he would win. Others being that he is relentless and has an awesome chin.

Weighing in at 135, Castillo has never came in at 160 or within 6 lbs of it. We are not talking welterweight fights here.

Cotto's chin is just as questionable as Corrales, and Corrales has much more experience vs better fighters than Cotto has. Big power is only one reason Cotto would probably lose to Corrales.
