Is Diego Corrales the Fighter of the Year?

This is pretty hard to choose. These are the front runners.

Corrales beat Casamayor, but was rocked late in the fight. He beat Freitas, who by most was not rated a pound for pound great. Other then Casamayor, Freitas never fought anyone of substance other than Corrales.

Barrera knocked out Ayala and defeated Morales, Morales was rated by most as the number 3 pound for pound fighter in the world, only behind Mayweather and Hopkins. Ayala may have been on the short end of the stick as far as his age, but he was never dominated in that sort of fashion before in his life and never knocked out either.

Tarver knocked out the number one pound for pound fighter in the world, even though it was two rounds and at this point, Johnson is the number two lightheavyweight in the world. Should Tarver beat Johnson, especially by KO, he may get consideration.

Then there is Hopkins, beat up Robert Allen to end their trilogy, Allen not the best fighter but a very tough opponent and then went on to knock out De La Hoya for the first time in his career.

Right now it is probably Diego. I think after he defeats Glen Johnson it will have to be Antonio Tarver.
