Ivan Calderon vs Brian Viloria in April

What do you think about this one Champ?

Viloria hasn't been choking when it's counted lately like he used to do, and Calderon is getting older.

Interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Well, Ivan as been slipping a bit and Viloria looked great against Solis.

Heres the thing, If Calderon fights like he fought Cazarez the 2nd time or Mayol he loses via KO. If He fights like he fought Dieppa, he will make Viloria look like a fool.


Calderon needs to box in circles and engage a lot to keep Viloria at bay, he cant rely on his reflexes all the tiime.

IF he stays in the pocket trowing combos and then moving occasionally he wins easy, if he runs and runs he will get tire and Viloria KOs him late.

This is actually about, how much Calderon have left and how he fights(meanng fight Plan), Viloria doesnt have a say on the matter, because prime per prime Calderon makes im look like a fool!!!

I dont know about that. Prime Viloria pre-Eric Ortiz fight was an absolute beast. As good as he looked against Solis it was only flashes of what Viloria once was before he lost confidence in himself for fear of sending another guy to the hospital.

The smart money would say Calderon but Viloria landed as big a shot as they come right when he needed it most on pretty much a do or die fight for him so anything is possible.

The criticsms people have or had of viloria were similar to the criticisms against joshua clottey and Rocky Juarez.

That he isnt active enough in rounds he is perfectly capable of winning. Except the difference is there was a time when Viloria didnt have that problem. He was all precision all business all fight. Until he fought and obliterated Eric Ortiz who ended up in the hospital and almost ended up like Z Gorres and Oscar Diaz. That is when Viloria started easing off the gas pedal and putting in workman like performances. For fear of doing it again to another human being and having that on his conscience. I think you check out some of his older fights before saying it's very deluded of me.
