now judah has fell of, but then he had just beat spinks for the WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring Mag titles. he was the universally recognized WW champion of the world, baldy beat him it was a fluke. but floyd made sure to prove who was the man by beating both. he only properly defended his title once against hatton. and then retired and hasnt done **** since, but he does deserve top be a top 5 WW based on beating the two top WWs even if it was a while ago.

maybe because he was the last undisputed welterweight champion

the real question is what makes Clottey top 5 as some of the Pacfans say?

thats how the lineal WW championship has been passed in recent years.

not to mention when judah beat spinks it was for the IBF, WBC and WBA titles. UNDISPUTED! u know what that means?

u can dismiss him as chicken dance judah if u want to but the fact remains he and only he was the number one WW in the world. in fact he was the last undisputed WW champion since baldomir vacated some belts due to money.

and it was those then paper titles that guys like cotto picked up. judah was the man back then, thats a fact.

            Based on talent? He's #1.

Based on accomplishments at WW over the past 2 years? No. Since he was retired for 21 months and came back to fight a lightweight.

Really no point to this thread besides attracting attention to yourself.

How can you say he #1 based on Talent when he fought no one?

strange how none of those guys fought the guy who was ranked number 1 at welterweight for 5 years. it's almost like they were ducking him...........well i hope they enjoyed their lil party amongst themselves.

Any respectable boxing fan would have Clottey in the top at least 7. He's at least 5 in my book, he's had tough tough fights with all the top guys.

                    You can even add

                    Berto vs Collazo

And the name Missing is Floyd jr.

He last 2 fight were JMM a LW and Ricky Hatton a JWW.
the same way hopkins is ranked #1 at LHW, even tho the last true LHW contender or champion he fought was tarver in 2006!

                    **** outta here....

Exactly, I don't even know why he is #2 in the Pound-for-pound list ?!!

He's been a welterweight for few years now and he doesn't have any of the elite welters on his resume (no Williams, Margo, Cotto, Mosley, Collazo, Cintron, Berto, and now not even Pacquiao)

He had JMM (a lightweight) and Hatton (a junior welter) as his last two fights!

Is this pound-for-pound worthy at all ???
