I don't care, it's not really relevent or much of a leg to stand on. Reason being because when talking about the issue of safety, and when a pro sportsmen in a fight sport has hardening wraps on their hands which would be due to hit someones face, that's enough to deem reasonable doubt for fighter safety. It's much less reasonable to apply the benefit of the doubt on such a matter.
You do not assume the other way when it's already proven they have hardening hands, it goes in the direction of more dangerous, and quite likely noticeably more dangerous, and demonstrating ill judgement, professionalism and quite likely a willingness to have illegal wraps in a fight sport. That is a very serious thing for a licenced professional. Ok.
I don't care, frankly. You sound like brash child saying, if they were ok, let him wear em, fuck it. Firstly that shows no respect for the rules of the sport. You cannot cheat in sport and expect to get away with it, and when it's as serious as being in a fight sport where neglect for safety has clearly happened on something as simple to get right as a fighters hands and weapons, then it's a serious matter.
Secondly, quite simply you do not know it not effect them. But he certainly hurt some of his opponents, and it was commented several times that his shots were very thudding.
May not have been actual plaster, but it's often fairly described as plaster like, and the bottom line was it was hardening which I fail to credit the trainer and boxer would not realise. That demonstrates a fundamental lack of respect for the rules, safety, and the sports reputation. I agree the punishment needs to fit the crime, we just disagree on the level of the punishment. Merely skipping one fight and being able to carry on is not enough when you've been found guilty of not only cheating, but potentially and quite possibly, risking the safety of other professional fighters.

One other point I'd like to make is Tony's fights with Williams, Clotty, and Cintron. Most people suspect that Tony had always been using the tainted wraps. Well Explain how Clotty and Williams went 12 rounds with Tony and came out of the fight uneffected and even in Williams case won the fight. Plus if the substance was Plaster then how does Tony knock out Cintro early in their to matches when the plaster is supossed to harden late in a fight.

I seriously don't think Paul and Clotty are inpervious to Plaster. Again not saying he didn't cheat but the punishment needs to fit the crime.
