So I guess that is why he got suspended for no reason. That is also why they are suing and fighting over seas. You talk about the gloves and his hand wraps are the issue. Revisit the incident and read about it so you can see what was found.Comment

since you know exactly what was in those gloves why don't you give us a brief explanation of what went down that day...Comment

Attempting to cheat in such a way that could cause injury or damage is not one that should be judged by the effectiveness or intelligence of the cheater but rather the intent. The intent was damage. Because of this I think the license should be revoked permanently and I will not pay for any card he is a part of. We can't let this slide regardless of how much we may have enjoyed his fights before (and I did).
I could be convinced to revisit this opinion but at this time I can't support Tony's return.Comment

I didn't say he didn't cheat! He tried to use an illegal knucklepad thats against the rules. But he didn't dip his hands in plaster and he didn't tamper with the gloves and if you know anything about knuckle pads they are actually designed to protect the fighters hands.
Yes he did break the rules and the suspension is deserved but when people out of ignorence to the subject make this out to be a Resto type cheating incident well it just makes me sick.Comment

i hope margarito moves up to 154. at this point of his career its getting tougher and tougher for him to make 147 although the year off could be a blessing in disguise as he got to rest his body after quite the bit of wars he had been in before his suspension. lookin forward to seeing how well he does when he gets back in the ring!Comment

"Probably wouldn't do more damage". Are you a doctor and know your materials then? Why put this stuff on the wraps if it had no reasonable effect?
The bottom line is, they were illegal wraps, not just put on wrong, but dodgey materials were on them. That's un-acceptable. Secondly, they were "hardening". That is simply un-acceptable and immediately raises genuine and valid concernss of how dangerous that could be, or how safety conscious the trainer and fighter is.
Thirdly per some trainers and boxers that have spoken out, I do not accept Tony would not realise all of this.
That shows an extreme neglect for the safety of the sport, and brings it into disripute as far as I'm concerned. All un-acceptable, merely roughly skipping one fight is hardly enough for such an offence, and advertises potentially dangerous things like messing with wraps which go on fighters hands (weapons) is not being treated seriously and stampted out of the sport.Comment

I didn't memorize the report but when I read the findings that were reported it was clear. I didn't believe it cause I thought in this day and age you can't cheat that way no more and was proven wrong. I use to defend him but not no more.
If he fights again would I watch, yes cause I'm curious to see how he does. Would I pay to see him headlining no, unless somebody pays for cause I won't.Comment
