I have to admit, I've only seen Peter fight once. He had massive power, but he was ponderously slow and lacked skill. This would be the perfect opponent for Toney as Peter's name is so high at present Toney destroying him (which I believe Toney would be able to do quite easily) would build him further. -
peter is all hype if he steps into the ring with toney he will get his ass handed to him. Peter has no skills and basically ever punch he is swinging for the fences. Toney defense and effective counter punching would show everyone peters huge flaws.Comment

ive been following him for a while, he improves every fight, he was kind of plodding and slow when i first saw him,but he has started to throw combos and get his punches off faster. unless he has a glass chin, i think he will kayo anybody after he gets in a few more fights. i havent seen real knockout power like his in some time. he reminds me of foreman a little, not to say he is anywhere near that level yet.Originally posted by AnorakI have to admit, I've only seen Peter fight once. Id say he more than qualifies in todays heavyweight devision, he's got power, quick hands, and hes young. sure give him a few more warm up fights let him test the heavyweight waters, but i really don't think it will change much, Peter's is the real thing. its not going to be another micheal grant repeat.Originally posted by joeboxerHow does a win against Jeremy Williams and Gilbert Martinez qualify Sam Peters for a shot at the title???? Why don't they just call out Vitali and Tyson like everybody else??
Peter needs to fight the winner of the Williamson vs Jefferson match or Wladmir or possibly if he's really lucky the winner of Brewster vs Golota.
He has definitly not earned a shot at one the top three boxers in the division.Comment

Yeah, me too - Foreman is the first person you think of when you see him. Though he was notably slower than Foreman, who was never that fast to begin with...Originally posted by dansweeneyive been following him for a while, he improves every fight, he was kind of plodding and slow when i first saw him,but he has started to throw combos and get his punches off faster. unless he has a glass chin, i think he will kayo anybody after he gets in a few more fights. i havent seen real knockout power like his in some time. he reminds me of foreman a little, not to say he is anywhere near that level yet.Comment

Not at heavyweight, that's for sure.
As for comparing the matchup to Tua-Byrd, that's a bad comparison. Byrd was taller than Tua and had a good jab. Toney does not have such a jab and is actually much shorter than Samuel Peter.Comment
